I have just attended 2 courses - gilding and brush making. Both were wonderful. Both small groups, so you get the right attention from the tutor/artist. The gilding one was led by Amelia Bedson, who was a great tutor - friendly, clear and so experienced. It was fascinating to work with a new medium. I came away with a small gilded frame and gilded oyster shell. Very proud! The second one was brush making led by Sophia Elouise. Her expertise and knowledge of this nearly lost art was fantastic, as was her teaching. She taught us how to make 2 hand held brushes from natural fibres, beautifully bound with bright cord. Again so proud and these will last a lifetime. It was great to learn an amazing ancient skill and everyone was pleased with their results. If you want to learn something new, be taught by wonderful experts in a small group, be welcomed by lovely, artist hosts, in beautiful surroundings and eat cake to die for, courses at Zantium studios are the choice for you.

I have attended 2 craft courses at Zantium Studios and very much enjoyed sharing the holistic experience of making something creative with like minded others.
It is both inspiring and nurturing due to the experience of being in a group with supportive tutors who know how to bring out the best in their students.
The dancing peacock "Godfrey" is another highlight, the scenic location and of course those amazing group meals;
and the best is yet to come: Alison's home made CAKE in the afternoon # cherry on the cake 🙂 did I mention cake! 🙂 Thank you ~ Dustie Hickey 23/3/19

I've just done the 2 day mosaic course with Peter who was a patient and enthusiastic tutor with a wealth of experience. I really valued his pearls of wisdom, artistic vision and encouragement. They have an awesome array of resources to use for projects and the studio is a fabulous relaxing place to spend time. A great bunch of people on the course and we bounced ideas off each other. Alison made us beautiful food for lunch and home-baked treats in the afternoon. A lovely spot, what a find! I'll be back!!

I had a gift of a craft course voucher given to me that id wanted to do for ages. I had such a fantastic day making my mosaic I've asked for another one for my next birthday as they offer loads of other cool stuff. The studio is gorgeous and people are so kind and warm that you are made to feel totally at home so it's no problem to go alone as you will be in a small group anyway and it's a very social day out. I was able to mosaic the logo to my business which has now been framed and had added hooks for keys. My day here has given me confidence now to start another project now I know the basics.

We have just completed the mosaic taster session, we had a great time; the tuition is perfectly paced, friendly and obviously benefited from years of experience. Highly recommended! The only downside was that we were so engaged that we missed the tea/cake break (the home made cake did look amazing too!)

I can’t rate the courses at Zantium Studios enough. The tuition is first class and I have now been back to further my mosaicing skills five times and will still be coming back for more! We work in a lovely friendly atmosphere learning a lot from each other but especially from Peter who cannot do enough to get us started and then help our progress. We are fed well and Alison cooks delicious homemade cakes. I find the five day summer courses very relaxing , you are able to immerse yourself into a project and it is a real break from everyday life.

Had a wonderful time with my sisters attending animal sculpture willow weaving course at Zantium studios. Emma the tutor was excellent and we all came away with recognizable animals. Recieved a warm welcome from Alison the studio owner an a delicious lunch , cake and lots of tea and encouragement !!! Would heartily recommend this course and venue. Huge thanks to Emma for her patience and encouragement.

The bookbinding course was superb, I couldn't have imagined that I would leave at the end of the day with a book that looked as if I had bought it in a shop!! Holly was an excellent tutor, really knowledgable but perfectly well-paced. And super organised too! The environment is lovely as well, with a very warm welcome from Alison and Peter, superb home-cooked food (the cake itself is worth the trip!) and a gorgeous studio to work in. I would so recommend this course to anyone, whether you do crafts or not.
