Alfred was a very professional and knowledgeable host. He made the history entertaining and interesting to all. Such a fabulous experience. The whole family, children as well, loved the tour. We were fascinated. Well done Alfred. So glad we chose York Tour!

We have visited York on many occasions and wandered around looking at the many fabulous historical sites.
This time we decided to book a guided history tour and we were not disappointed.
Alfred was a superb host and his enthusiasm for his subject shone through.
We learnt so many new facts about the great city of York we couldn't stop talking about it for days after!
All in all a highlight of our visit!

Took this tour as a group of six friends in June '23. It was the first event of our three full days of sightseeing and it was the best introduction we could have had. Our guide, Alfred, was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very "listenable". We walked the city walls, stopping off at a variety of places of interest. The tour was great value for money; the scheduled two hours was nearer two and a half. At the end of our trip in which we saw a lot of York, every member of our group voted the tour with Alfred as their favourite activity. Very highly recommended.

Sarah was a fantastic guide - very clear and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and history in general. We learnt so much and it was nice that the group was small as it made it more personal and easy to ask questions. This tour of York was well worth the time and money and we would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time on our walking tour and Alfred, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, entertaining and friendly. We learned so much about York’s rich and fascinating history and saw some of York’s best sites. This tour is made better because it’s always guaranteed to be a small group - this allowed for a more personal touch and meant we could always hear our tour guide. We’ll be recommending this tour to all our friends!

Great Tour. Alfred, the tour guide, tailored the tour for one of the other members of the group who was from Edinburgh. He drew parallels between York and Edinburgh (of which there are several). Alfred is extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. I'm sure each tour he gives is a little bit different than all of the others, based on who is in the group. This tour and the Jack The Ripper walking tour in London were two of the best things we did on our recent trip to England (from the U.S.). If we make it back to York in the future, for sure we will take Alfred's tour again (if he is still doing them).
