Gorgeous forest and arboretum - plenty of well sign posted trails for walkers, runners, cyclists and horse riders. The trails are easy to follow and walk on, with some side trails for those who want to peel off from the main paths.

Parking is expensive - hence the 4 stars not 5.

Easily the most beautiful forest in the UK, with ancient woodland, attractive spruce and fir plantations overgrown with green moss, an abundance of streams with small cascades and in certain places rather large waterfalls. Abundance of fungi and other wildlife. An extremely nice place, definitely one of my favourite places in the UK

Such a wonderland of nature. It’s never busy. The waterfalls are stunning at anytime of year. There are deer, dippers, and many other birds and animals. A most beautiful peaceful place. These pics and videos were taken January 2021. The car park at Dry Mill is very small so get there either early or late afternoon for the best chance of parking.

A fabulous area for a walk, a run, a bike ride or out on the horse - multiple tracks and trails with lots of different signposts that give you an idea of how far the walk will be. There are multiple car parks are but they get full pretty quickly. There is a cafe, toilets and Go Ape at the big visitor centre area. The forest itself is full of wildlife, plenty of deer, birds, butterflies, etc. No matter what season you go in there is always something to see. I love walking here with the dogs, they love going in the water! Some paths can get very muddy and some are rocky so watch your step, but the big main paths are suitable for prams and wheelchairs. A great place to relax, get a bit of peace and quiet and get back to nature.

Very nice place, spent 6 hours by walking and enjoying the beauty of this forest, all the birds singing so beautifully, being able to take a deep breath of clear air with flower's sentence ...
Not too busy and have seen only very respectfull walkers , however must say it was a bit difficult to find parking spot as all been full despite it was before 9am .
Luckily we have found a spot near Dry Mill Ln , so we could have a great time.

Absolutely breathtaking forest Park, its much bigger than it first appears as well. It's big enough that you can walk around and see only a handful of people. It's such a peaceful place to have a wander around and there's the chance of seeing deer from time to time. There's a nice cafe too that serves food and coffee etc.
