We stayed at charlton gate lovely cottage. Warm cozy. The beds were so soft. Went with my ad. She loved the garden and often went for a run was nice and secure garden. Wooden fire lovely and warm a good deep bath. Loved my time there deffently be saving my penny's to go again. Hopefully the stars would show. Thank you both. I did leave a lovely note in the kitchen for you too.

This place is absolutely beautiful, log burner bed so comfy and its just beautiful. Sam from wooden star cottages sorted my stay out very promptly, she is fab... this house is ideal for a perfect getaway off grid. Very peaceful and views breathtaking, would highly recommend service and stay was fantastic, see you soon for our next getaway and we cant wait!!!!

Beautiful cottage with stunning views, log burner, dark skies everything you could ask for. Loved it so much were thinking of rebooking but after putting a 5 star review on AirBnB we were sent a bill for £50 for extra cleaning as there were a few splats of mud on the wall and skirting by the front door! Given the location and the fact that it is pet friendly I felt this was very unfair.

The cottage is on a working farm surrounded by sheep and cattle, it had rained heavily when we arrived, there was mud all up the track and around the cottage. The front garden is grassed but was very boggy from the heavy rain. As our dogs were with us we put towels down everywhere and covered all the furniture with blankets. Before we left we spent an hour cleaning, mopping, hoovering, wiping everything down, even driving the rubbish to the bins down by the road. We even had a trip to B&Ms in Hexham earlier in the week to buy our own mop!

Had such a lovely stay but this bill put a downer on it. Would have loved to have rebooked but would be worried the whole time in case the cream walls and white skirting boards got a bit dirty. Such as shame, the cottage is really beautiful and perfect for dogs with the enclosed garden and beautiful walks on the doorstep, but not if you are constantly worrying about the mud. We have been staying in cottages with our dogs for years and never been billed for anything before.

Such a shame otherwise the cottage was just perfect.

We have stayed at 2 cottages owned by Wooden Star cottages now (Seal Cottage & Shelbraes) and loved them both - such a high standard, very homely and lovely decor. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them - and indeed have done to friends & family! We’ll be back
