A round-up of our short trip to Windsor, and what better way to end it than with a visit to Windsor Castle? It was the epitome of history, and as someone fascinated by the history, I found it absolutely breathtaking. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we didn’t get tickets to explore inside the castle, but we’ll definitely be back. I highly recommend booking tickets in advance (online)!

Beautiful, storied castle on the outskirts of London. The grounds are well preserved and spacious so even if the crowds are heavy you have room to roam.

Within the castle walls you can visit the beautiful St. George’s Chapel, State Apartments, and Queen Mary’s Doll House.

During our visit they had historical reenactments in the courtyard which enhanced the history with demonstrations and talks.

Be sure to take in the Changing of the Guard ceremony on Tuesdays, Thursday, or Saturdays at 1100. Neat tradition to see.

It's a fairy tale town. The castle is a must visit destination when in London. Got to see the change of guards 💂‍♂️
The royals were in the castle with the flag flying full mast. There is history in every corner and pathway....
Do take the full
Do eat in the canteen downstairs
Do not miss the Doll house no matter how long the line.
Enjoy the open air as well as the closed quarters.

We visited on a weekday with pre-booked tickets and had a fantastic experience. Although there was a queue at the entrance to check tickets, it moved quickly, and the security check was smooth and efficient. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout.

Everything was well-organised, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a free audio guide, which comes in different languages. The castle itself is absolutely stunning, immaculately maintained, and steeped in history. The grounds are beautiful, and St George’s Chapel is especially moving, being the resting place of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

We were also lucky to catch the Changing of the Guard, which was a real highlight. Overall, a wonderful and memorable experience - highly recommended!

We had excellent weather and didn't wait more than 5 minutes in the queue. It was nice having the audio tour (although I wish it could connect to my hearing aids). Unfortunately, the cathedral was closed because we visited on a Sunday. It was also very busy, but not so bad that we didn't enjoy it.

Great tourist spot to take your family specially this summer. It’s my mum’s first time going and she absolutely enjoyed it! We didn’t get to go inside the castle as the tickets were unavailable the day we went but you can still go and take some photos outside the castle.
