Wild Wales-A really enjoyable weekend. The rides I did proved to be more challenging than I expected due to unfamiliar terrain and gradient however the support and camaraderie more than made up for any pain or discomfort.
The site was perfect, the sauna and plunge pool was well used and so refreshing after a long ride.
The food was gorgeous. Well organised and filling. Also there were second helpings which I like.
People came alone, in groups and in couples. There was space and option to socialise, chill by the waterfall, go for walks or just sit and ponder as well as the scenic rides.
I would definitely recommend this weekend to anyone looking for challenging rides, meeting like minded folks and also getting loads of helpful tips and advice on riding, kit and a bit of bike maintenance too.
Super well organised and lovely lovely people!!

Picked up my rental (bike hire) Sonder gravel bike at Marylebone Station and enjoyed three nice days of riding along canal paths, Epping Forest, city bike routes, and Richmond Park. Biking in the city is very doable with 15 mph streets. Highly recommend Wild Cycles for their reasonable prices, nicely kept bikes, and communication throughout the process. Great experience!

I book an intro to gravel cycling via Much Better Adventures. The booking process and flow of information was great with reply to messages very quickly.

On arrival I was greeted warmly by John and Beatrice and was shown to my accommodation and welcomed to help myself to drinks and snacks.

Others joined until we were a full group and we were served the first of our meals which were all delicious. Alessandro and Nunziella, co-guides, also joined and we had a lovely couple of nights nattering around the fire before retiring to the bell tents.

The bike I was provided was good and had the opportunity to set it up as I like it. Nothing was too much trouble for John and his team. Even swapped bike for the second day to try both flat and drop bars.

The routes were beautiful with some great scenery and whilst not being in peak fitness I was able to keep up, there was no pressure or stress, everyone was catered for. Lots of stops and cafe/lunch breaks.

Can’t recommend this break enough. Had a great time and can’t recommend John and his team highly enough. Had a great weekend.

Just returned from the 4-day King Alfred’s Way adventure with Wild Cycles – and once again, they absolutely nailed it. From start to finish, everything was brilliantly organised, leaving us free to focus on what we came for: riding bikes through stunning countryside.

Each day’s route was well thought out and evenly broken up, with just the right balance of challenge and enjoyment. Arriving at camp each evening to find our bell tents already set up—with drinks and snacks waiting—was such a treat. Evening meals were hearty, healthy, and delicious, and breakfasts set us up perfectly for the day ahead.

This isn’t our first trip with Wild Cycles, and it definitely won’t be our last. Huge thanks to John and Beatrice for creating such a seamless, memorable experience. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

An unforgettable weekend! Wild Cycles you did an amazing job. Fabulous routes with a great mix of gravel, cycle paths and some tricky single track MTB sections which kept us on our toes but enabled us to experience what we nicknamed “the deep dark enchanted forest” and the ”edge” with those incredible views! The camp was great despite the midges and food delicious! Thank you 🙂

King Alfred’s Way 4 day cycle event organised by Wild Cylces was certainly a challenge, however the open space and views were spectacular. John & Beatrice were excellent hosts, from setting up camp to providing nutritious hot meals & pleasent discussions at the end of the day. The support offered by Wild Cycles provides you with the confidence to take on the route, knowing that someone has got you covered. Daily safety and technical briefings are well delivered, specific and relevant for each section of the trail. Each day holds its own surprises from wonderful scenery, tactical descents & enduring climbs with a mix of terrain. A nice touch, John rode out to meet us on a couple of days, riding the last few miles with us. I rode the route on a Gravel bike but would probably use a lightweight MTB if I ever rode the route again.
I can’t recommend Wild Cycles enough, thank you John & Beatrice

Myself and a group of friends decided that we wanted to go on a cycle through the chilterns and came across Wild Cycles when researching Google.
John and Nick were absolutely amazing. Provided some very useful tips on approaching gravel rides - the whole experience left us all ready to buy our own bikes and make it a regular occurence.

I hired a gravel bike for a 2 day trip to do part of the King Alfred’s way.
This bike was awesome - well maintained and handled all the terrains I encountered very well. It was also very quick on the road! John kindly supplied a handlebar bag which carried everything I needed for the trip.

John himself had great communication and was flexible with pickup/dropoff times. He gave great advice about the route and the bike.

Would 100% recommend to anyone planning a trip.
