Very happy with the boat ride. On arrival, we were given instructions on the estuary rules, directions and a map showing points of interest.
Another member of the team showed us how to use the boat and took us out for a quick demo. We sailed for 2hrs, stopping over at a local pub. Very very beautiful and pleasant experience. Definitely on the to 'must do' list when visiting Salcombe - even in the rain. Everything was straight forward, explained and the staff were superb. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff and great boats. Do your research on tide times, we had 4hrs and went to north sands, then back inland, up to South pool and then off towards Kingsbridge. Stopped at the Crabshell Inn, had a fantastic pint of proper job and came back. Relaxed and plenty of time time to take in the estuary. Well worth it.

An upsetting experience. At the briefing we were told we could take the boats onto the beach, just check on them every 15 minutes. We stopped to get ice creams and within minutes the owner Matt arrived and told us we could not use them any longer as he didn’t want the anti-foul damaged by pushing them out to sea. At no point in the briefing had we been advised that we needed to keep them afloat. Matt became increasingly rude and belligerent to us. That was the end of a pleasant family day out.
I see earlier good reviews are for previous owners and in the last year other reviews have complained of similar rudeness.
You’ll have a lovely day out if nothing goes wrong. If it does then don’t expect a helpful or sympathetic response.

Highly recommend, give it a go. Very professional and friendly service delivered by for a young knowledgeable couple who will do well in business. They give great advise on where to go and how long to have their boats. Very COVID safe.

We had an amazing time out on the cap400. It was so much fun, my 14 & 15 Yr olds really enjoyed sailing the boat. With lots of creeks to go up and down there's lots to see. Would recommend this trip. We didn't anchor the boat at a beach but you can!

The trip started great with a friendly briefing with an experienced young sailor who explained where we could motor including how to land the boats onto the beach if we wished to buy an ice cream. After a brief motor toward Kingsbridge we turned back toward Mill Bay and decided to land on the beach and buy recommended ice creams. Within 10min of landing on beach and with ice cream in hand we return to find a very red faced and rude gentlemen (later known to be the proprietor) who explained that the boats were grounded and we would not be able to be motor away until high tide. We were somewhat bemused due to having only been on the beach less than 10 min with the boats still half afloat and having followed the advice given during the induction. We could have easily pushed the boats less than a couple of feet back into the water and been on our way. However, the proprietor was having none of it and was frankly outright rude in expressing his views. It was disheartening see that my father (an experienced sailor who has circumnavigated the globe in a boat) who had arranged a fun family day trip around Salcombe harbour at large expense had been so rudely spoken to by this man in spite of having followed the guidance given by the boat company who had decided to cut short our trip as a result of our following the advice given during the induction. The speed at which the gentleman had approached us after landing on the beach and the chastising we received for following the the advice given did seem to half a whiff of racketeering…. Personally, I would not recommend this company, there seem to be a few others based in the area so maybe give these a go and save yourself the same experience!
