Wonderful landscape for a long walk. Very flat so great for those who enjoy walking but not up hills!!!! Not surprisingly it is extremely windy so wrap up warm. Well stocked cafe for a snack, drink or lunch. Plenty of parking too.

This place is good, nice staff, any questions or queries they can help with no problem

The only gripe is the cafe. The past few times Ive visited the cafe hasn’t done any hot food, had no stock or drinks. On nice spring days, place should be well stocked, better range, more staff and needs more options. It’s such a let down considering the views, the cafe has serious potential.

A very fascinating place to visit. Maybe 30 miles of wide paths for walking or cycling.
One elevated spot 8m away has great scenic views.

If you want to learn about wind farms and their role in taking us towards green energy and net zero, Whitelee is a great place to start. The visitor centre has a well designed and engaging exhibition, which shows signs of its links to the Glasgow Science Centre (good clear graphics and lots of interactives). This is supplemented by a tour (in an electric bus) of a section of the wind farm. Our bus driver was an experienced tour guide and extremely knowledgeable, comfortably answering our many questions. The sheer scale of Whitelee is overwhelming. We didn’t use the cafe as we had made other arrangements.

Functional and educational visitors centre with cafe, bathrooms and hands on exhibits to understand wind energy.

Cafe is fairly priced and light and bright with a large decked terrace offering views over the estate. Lots of seating (hard and soft) and is kept clean and tidy.

Parking is free and ample with spots for EV and disabled access close to the centre.

Note that hot food often ends an hour or so before the cafes advertised closure.

Very kid friendly and staff are always present and keen to help and get involved. It’s a well oiled machine.

Visited Whitelee Wind Farm and was thoroughly impressed! The sheer scale of the wind turbines is awe-inspiring, and the views from the visitor center are stunning. The visitor center itself is very informative, with great exhibits that explain how the wind farm operates and the importance of renewable energy. There are also several well-maintained walking and cycling trails that take you right up close to the turbines, offering a unique perspective. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even better. Highly recommend for a day out that’s both educational and enjoyable!

Lots to learn for primary school age kids. Secondary schools have science trips here but maybe won’t hold attention too long on family day out. Nice cafe. I came primarily for the walks around the wind farm itself which can extend for miles if you want. Mountain bike trails also.

Surprisingly lots to do and we got free solar charge of our EV while we visited the exhibit, had delicious lunch and cake in the cafe and walked round some of the paths. There is a Bus tour that is currently free at weekends in February as well but we didn’t do that. Great for bikes with a MB trail, dog walkers and walkers as well.
