Stayed in birch cottage for 3 nights.
Lovely warm cottage, very remote so take plenty of supplies, but good location to explore.
Met by Jill and John on arrival very friendly chatty couple.
Well equipped with multi fuel burner, it was lit for us in arrival, John sells logs for further nights ,this wasn't mentioned in the other reviews so unfortunately I brought my own.
Note the back door keys doesn't come out of the door the front door key is attached so you have to remove it from the key ring.
There is plenty of wildlife around but we didn't have the best weather which was a pity.
The television in the living room is connected to various wildlife cameras around the site is was nice to see the barn owls.
Note when driving up once you see the cottage sign and go over a speed bump take a left the cottages are there with their own parking and EV chargers, the sign can be a bit confusing.

Just back from a week staying in Oak Cottage with the wife and 3 dogs.
The hosts welcomed us on arrival and showed us around.Everything you need is included and we had a fantastic week exploring Northumberland, the borders and had a day up in Edinburgh.
We will definitely go back here again.

I didn't even end up staying. Rang a few days before to confirm arrival time. Started off cordially enough then the owner said he had a marketing survey for me to complete and started by asking me my age and job. I was somewhat taken aback by this but tried to say a few different ways that I wasn't comfortable providing the information and that I'd never had to before when booking cottages with the company I used. After a few attempts to get the data out of me he then moved on to say he was suspicious of me and worried what I would do in his property before he ended the call in an abrupt manner.

After the call I verified with my travel provider that I was actually talking to the owner and unbelievably I was. I cancelled the holiday with them as even though I lost 95% of my money due to how close the holiday was, it was better than the only other option they gave me which was to go on the holiday and risk it being ruined due to situation with the owner carrying on into the holiday.

I'm glad I did as shortly after the call to my travel provider he rang again and I rejected the call as I was still in shock from the initial phone call plus I had cancelled the holiday and didn't feel the need to speak to him. He left a voicemail saying he was deeply disturbed about my attitude and he was concerned that I won't respect the property I was staying in. I find it staggering he has rushed to such a judgement based on me being rightly cautious with personal information.

It's very strange as it looks and sounds like a nice cottage but I'd never stay there.
