Went on the Gruffalo trail and the children loved it. The grown ups enjoyed the wonderful views. Well worth a visit. Staff at the centre were great and really encouraged the children to look for things and complete the walk. Not too expensive which is a bonus for everyone one at the moment.

Had a great experience of hiring a tramper for a family walk. Staff were very helpful in getting us set up and the route was fantastic and took us right into the forest with brilliant views - not like some place I've been where the only offer for wheelchair users is a short circuit of the car park! In July, it was not too busy and the walk ended with a lovely cafe (with vegan options) and a gift shop. Definitely recommend!

Had such a fabulous day visiting Whinlatter Forest Park. The scenery was incredible. I was surrounded by an array of flora and fauna. Walking through the wooded hillsides was joyful, even when it rained! The centre was easy to find with good car parking facilities. The visitor centre had clean, well looked after toilets, a lovely cafe (Siskin Café) with indoor and outdoor tables. A takeaway option was available too. The menu was very good with both hot and cold options, homemade cakes and scones, good hot and cold drinks including their own blend of tea and coffee. Definitely one for a repeat visit.
There were marked walking, cycling and running routes with on site cycle hire. Go Ape was located next to the visitor centre as was the meeting point for Alpacaly Ever After. Something for everyone!

Fantastic day out for the family. We went on a themed walk using a pack purchased from tge main shop. Really helps the walk around the forest on well maintained paths when with a young family.
There is a nice play area small climbing wall and netting and bits which are free to use.
Cafe provides good food that's good value. It does get busy and although there is also outdoor seating on a wet day which we had there aren't many spare seats. Problem of the popularity and size of the forest I guess.

Certainly recommend with the activities available.
