I booked Steve as a guide for a day on my maiden visit to North Uist. He came recommended by a friend who had used his services previously, & Steve didn’t disappoint. His knowledge, expertise & familiarly with the island & its inhabitants shone through, & he is a very easy going guy to get along & spend a day with.
I got to see a few firsts for me on my day out too, including incredible close up encounters with corn crakes. If you are looking for a guy to show you around, look no further than Steve Duffield.

We spent the day visiting many different sites around North Uist looking for wildlife. Steve was a fountain of knowledge answering all of our questions and making us feel relaxed throughout the day.

We were lucky to encounter an Otter fishing at one of the first sites we visited which was a truly magical experience.

Despite the weather not being great we stopped in a location Steve knew that Eagles were active and were lucky to encounter a White Tailed Eagle being shown off by a Golden Eagle which was then joined by two further Golden Eagles!

Steve gave us a great insight into places to return to throughout our holiday and ideas on how the wildlife is active at different times of the year.
