We booked this hotel last minute and we were so glad we did. The taxi driver who took us to the hotel told us it was very good, a proper traditional Scottish hotel. It was lovely, our room was upgraded and while we didn’t have a sea view it was still very pleasant aspect. It had a great comfortable bed, lovely bedding and a good shower,plenty of room space. We ate twice in the conservatory restaurant and both meals were excellent. They had a great range of gluten free choices too. The view from the restaurant is spectacular, there is also a terrace outside to enjoy a drink on and take in the same view. We enjoyed investigating the public spaces, it has a great character and charm. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Such a lovely place we look forward to visiting again soon.

We had dinner in one of the pods out on the deck overlooking the water. It was fantastic. Unfortunately, it rained, but we still had a beautiful view. The two young men who were taking care of us were friendly and lovely. The bartender mixed some excellent drinks, and our young waiter was super friendly. The food was also fantastic. we didn’t share with anybody, but we are celebrating our 45th wedding on anniversary as we travel across Scotland. This was the perfect place to celebrate.

We stayed at the Western Isles Hotel and found the experience to be a mix of highs and lows. The room we had was spacious, which was great, but the decor felt quite tired and could use some updating. That said, the view over the harbour was absolutely lovely and definitely a highlight of the stay.||We had dinner at the hotel restaurant—while the food was okay, the prices felt quite steep for what was served. Breakfast was fairly average, nothing particularly memorable.||Overall, the setting is beautiful, and the space has potential, but a few aspects could use some attention to match the charm of the location.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Old world charm that sadly is missing in today’s hustle and bustle. This hotel was an absolute delight from check in the front desk (Gertie) Could not have been more gracious and accommodating. Then we dined in the restaurant and had an absolutely charming waiter(Sam) Who really Was a delight To talk with. He helped us choose our wines And we had a little bit of good fun and banter. Hats off to the chef it was the best meal we had in Scotland. We had an absolutely delightful stay!

The food & the staff in the bar & restaurant are amazing, very helpful & the views from the dining room/conservatory stunning. The rooms are dated, we were travelling as 2 couples & 1 bathroom (rm 8) was very inadequate, and kept flooding, reported at reception with no interest. |I had booked our rooms in plenty time 2 doubles for 2 couples, explaining it was a special trip as I was returning to the place if my birth, yes one of the very few actually born on Mull. Travelling with family from Australia . We both had views of the car park, when asked could we move to a sea view, we were advised they were being ‘kept’ for people coming for 1 night at the weekend. So our 3 night stay and 2 double rooms plus dinner on 2 nights was gazumped by a possible maybe booking for 1 night. It must be an expensive 1 night because our 3 nights was !

Arrived at hotel staff lovely and upgraded to one of the patio room which was stunning and amazing views. We only ate one night but could not fault service or the food. And breakfast had plenty of choice. Hotel is on top of hill so not for faint hearted going back up the hill. Only had one wee gripe housekeeping did come in and make bed but would leave dirty cups when leaving new ones apart from that will def be back thank you for a fantastic first stay In Tobermory

Food here I believe is very underrated. It's quite good and higher end quality. Drinks are decent and the view is incredible. They do have vegan and vegetarian options and they are better than expected. I'm a bit disappointed that the online menu doesn't match their current menu but it is good. I think this place deserves more credit than it gets. Service is pretty good too. Please remember my three stars don't mean these places are bad, just more I wouldn't travel out of my way for this place. Meaning more it's not the reason to go to Tobermory
