Western Cars is by far the best taxi company I have used.
Their drivers are consistently courteous and helpful, and the level of customer service they provide is exceptional.
On one occasion, after experiencing delays with other companies, I contacted Western Cars to book a taxi. I was informed that the driver would arrive in 15 minutes—and, impressively, the driver arrived exactly on time.
Their reliability and professionalism truly set them apart.

Turned up 15mins late so missed 2 trains. Driver said had been sent my job nice and early but it had then been retracted and he’d been sent somewhere else. Clearly trying to cram in too many jobs! Not even an apology offered by office or driver.

Wonderful prompt service even at nearly 3am they had a wheelchair taxi. Love that they send not only a tracking link but a registered driver with a photo id sent by WhatsApp. So I knew already who my driver was, what car make model and registration and I knew when and where the car was on its way to me. Lovely driver who got me home safe and promptly.
Very impressed with the service and company’s website listed everything I needed to get home when everyone else was not available or not accessible.

My partner and I walked much farther than we intended to on Saturday afternoon, and called Western Taxis to take us back to the Ardingly Reservoir Carpark, which was showing as a 5 minute drive away on Google Maps, but something like a 45 min walk from where we were on the Haywards Heath road. It was half 6, and we needed to get back for 7.
I received a WhatsApp message whilst waiting with the details on it, which I replied to saying that the pick up point was correct, but that the destination was wrong - it said we wanted to go to East Grinstead. I also informed the driver that we were not going to East Grinstead, but to the reservoir. He flapped his hand at me, saying "yes yes, it's fine." His driving was erratic, to say the least, leaving us being flung around corners and narrowly avoiding head-on collisions.
We were a little unsure of the quickest route, not being from round here, but after nearly 10 mins, we asked the driver to stop, which he did, and he showed us where he was headed - he still had the East Grinstead destination on his satnav. We found the destination on my phone, and asked him to follow that map, which he said he would. After another 10 mins of insane driving, we somehow ended up at the place he picked us up from! We got him to pull over again, only to find that he was ignoring our very simple and oft repeated request to go to Ardingly Reservoir carpark - and was still following his own satnav to East Grinstead! WTH? He ended up calling the controller and passing the phone to me, who apologised and changed the destination for the driver, who then, finally took us to the reservoir, but not without driving even worse than before - I was genuinely frightened by this man's lack of care and attention - braking hard because he nearly missed a turning and almost caused us to be hit by the car behind, and then declaring, when I asked him if he was OK, that we should pay him double the amount because he was late to his next job!
At a 20 pound standard tariff, we were already feeling ripped off, as this should only have been a 5 minute drive, but for this dangerous individual to then try to double our fare because of his own incompetence was just ridiculous. We refused of course, and offered to call the police to ask them to deal with it, but he capitulated and we exited the car after paying for our Terror Ride.
Why was this person so intent on taking us to East Grinstead I mean, it's a nice place, but all we wanted was to get to our car.
Taxi Firm Owner:
Your driver didn't appear to understand us. If you're providing a service that involves speaking to the general public in England, then you need to learn at least some basic English.
Your driver is terrible at driving. Unsafe, too fast, and uncomfortable - my back is very sore from being flung about in the cab and the hard braking. I'm not impressed.
Finally, he tried to take more money from an already overpriced fare.
This whole experience was appalling, and I am seriously considering speaking to a solicitor about the damage caused to my back, and reporting this man for dangerous driving.

We got a fixed price for return from Haywards Heath hospital to Telscombe Cliffs. The driver was really nice and the car was very comfortable and really clean. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Avoid if you can. Aggressively tried to renegotiate the price higher after we were already in the car. Didn’t feel safe (driver was tailgating). Car was dated.
