A fantastic location for a self-guided riding holiday with your own horses. Six of us stayed in Mill Cottage for a long weekend exploring the myriad of shingle woodland trails, old drovers paths, farmland dotted with sheep and cattle. It's hilly and there are quite a lot of gates to navigate but the views are spectacular! The cottages are immaculate with absolutely everything you need. The stables are American barn style with pristine paddocks for turnout if needed. There is a also a fantastic award-winning gastro pub just 1 mile down the lane. We absolutely loved it at Westcott Farm and highly recommend. Thanks for having us all.

We stayed in the Granary which was beautiful although the room ensuite was very tight, the shower was very spacious but the sink was difficult to use because its tiny & the toilet is right in front of it. Having said that it wasn't a big deal as we just shaved etc whilst in the shower. Would have loved a hot tub but there aren't any onsite. Absolutely stunning location with a fantastic pub/restaurant less than a mile away but unless you're mega fit don't walk it because the hills are a killer here. I'd highly recommend planning your route in if towing horses because a friends 7.5t got stuck going past the Royal Oak, its incredibly steep and twisty so you can't take a run up to it. We'd definitely go back as the people were lovely and it's beautifully maintained.

We had a week in Harthanger View Cottage and it was lovely, spacious, very comfortable and with nice views.
We arrived to find milk and some free range eggs in the fridge which was a nice surprise.

We took along our pony and Annette was so kind to let us have Heather, her 21 year old miniature Shetland pony to keep our pony company and they got along really well. There aren't any words to describe how sweet this little pony is.
There's a bridleway beside the farm and it gives you access to almost endless riding.
It's about a mile to the nearest village where there's a lovely old sixteenth century pub serving good food and the staff are really friendly. They also allow dogs in the pub.
I can't wait to go back for my next holiday.

Lovely place. The only thing I would say it it’s very hilly and we were unprepared for the hills. We’d taken our bikes and was unable to use them. However our horse really enjoyed herself. I’m looking forward to rebooking this place in the future but I would want to stay for a longer duration than last time. Great hosts. Nothings too much trouble and the cottage was well stocked with everything you can think of. Fantastic bathroom too. We’ll done.

Fantastic place, very friendly welcome, beautiful setting. Very comfortable for us (a family with 2 young kids, 8 & 5). Great for exploring Exmoor with a 1 mile walk to a charming local pub that does great food.
