Just returned from a private tour 'A glimpse of China' with Wendy Wu. It was an exceptional tour. The hotels far exceeded my expectations, the travel guides looked after us from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We visited three different cities and so had a local guide for each place. Each guide was incredibly knowledgeable and could not have done more for us. Everything went so smoothly we will definitely book a Wendy Wu tour again. Highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant from beginning to end! We did the Vietnam at a Glance guided tour and everything went like clockwork from flights to airport transfers, hotels, transport, the lot!
A very big shout out for our National Guide, Vu, who was fantastic in every way. His knowledge of the country together with its history was superb. He had a great sense of humour and kept us all entertained throughout the 12 day trip. His organisational skills were amazing and he ensured that everything went as planned.The trip was full on (which suited us down to the ground) so 06.30 breakfast followed by 07.30 departure was not unusual. The breakfast at all the hotels were excellent with unbelievable choice. The only negative comment on the whole trip was the time allocated at the restaurants for dinner and lunch which appeared to be restricted to just one hour so everything seemed somewhat rushed! Other than that, it was perfect.

Based on a China tour expirience.
Very well organised and all the guides were helpful and caring.
Food was good but I would like a bit more variety. Hotels also could be a little bit better especially in Beijing. Overall ,I think its a good value for money and very well organised .I felt safe and supported the whole time .

This was supposed to be a trip of a lifetime to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary it turned into a nightmare. We arrived into a typhoon and were confined to our hotel rooms, when we did get out most of the attractions were closed due to storm damage.The days in Shanghai were spent wandering round looking at buildings with the guides frantically trying to fill in time. The trip to the silk factory was just a money spinner. Hotel was very good as were the meals.The move to Gualin/Xian were the highlight of the trip, beautiful scenery lovely towns but rushed. Hotels were very good , the meals becoming mundane. The Terracotta Warriors were fantastic. The journey to Beijing by bullet train was great and thats all I can say about Beijing as I came down with vomiting etc, I was admitted to hospital for treatment and was confined to my hotel room for the remainder of the holiday, missing out on the visits to the Forbidden city and Great Wall. My wife along with two other members of our group came down with the same illness on the last day. The whole experience has left us feeling disappointed the days were far too long with no opportunity to return to the hotel to freshen up. There was very little time to shop except where the guides wanted us to shop, and everything was rush rush rush with very little time to take in the "China experience " There were good points on this trip but these were somewhat overshadowed by the bad times. Needless to say we will not be booking another tour.

Unfortunately 0 is not an option.
Changed the flights which meant an extra 8 hours travelling but would not return any refund when we cancelled.
Can’t justify a £700 deposit when no flights were booked and no hotels booked either.
Please avoid, there are other, better companies out there.

We have just returned from an excellent trip, Japan Uncovered. Blessed by outstanding weather, and in cherry blossom season this trip covered all the major sites that we most wanted to see in Japan. Our guide, Mina, was fabulous. Patient, knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour. Her English was excellent. Our group of 27 included English, Irish and Australian participants. A few of us had food requests and allergies which Mina took time to understand and to ensure that the restaurants were aware of.
Before embarking on a trip such as this though I would urge people to do their homework. This is a trip designed to cover as many peoples interests as possible. Therefore, there will be occasions when you like certain activities more than others. This is not a personalised trip. This also applies to the food. Sometimes you will eat at fairly high end restaurants and sometimes the equivalent of a cafe. The food is predominantly Japanese because that is what people eat in Japan! I am not a huge fan of Japanese food but I tried everything and I was never hungry. The days are long and there is often quite a bit of walking. So when it is stated that a good level of fitness is required, that is what they mean. On the first day we walked over 20,000 steps as well as travelling by coach and boat; and recovering from jet lag. English is not widely spoken but with a smile and a sense of humour most things can be communicated. We were happy with all of the hotels that we stayed in but Japanese hotel rooms tend to be small and rather warm. There often isn’t a bar to relax in, in the evenings but the vending machines are excellent.
We will definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for other Wendy Wu tours but I think that this one will be hard to beat both in terms of cost and the amount of Japan that we were able to see. Just a couple of thousand photos to go through now.

My wife & I have recently returned from an excellent Wendy Wu tour of Cambodia & Vietnam with a few days chilling in Phuket at the end.
The tour organisation was second to none & the tour guides (Sokhoeun in Cambodia & Laki in Vietnam), very knowledgeable about their countries, very personable & excellent guides. Both freelance i believe so if you see their names advertising themselves as guides, go for it.
The hotels we stayed in were superb with the exception of the hotels in Hoi An & Hue that were not to the same standard as all the others but clean, comfortable & good breakfasts none the less.
The tour was "full on" with many early starts, but we expected it to be & if it wasn't we wouldn't have seen many of the things we did, so the 4 days in Phuket doing nothing at the end of our tour was very much needed.

The whole Glories of China tour was perfect, great sites to visit, smooth and quick transfers, good hotels and restaurants, friendly and helpful guides (esp Helen Liao) but best of all it was great fun. It was faultless - best tour we have ever had!!
