I visited Wembury to participate in one of their UV rockpooling sessions - which I cannot recommend enough!

It was awesome and not expensive. Obviously visiting at night time meant there were no queues for the car park. To get to the car park you have to drive down a single lane track essentially with some passing points in places, but I can imagine in the daytime during the summer holidays it would be potentially quite frustrating trying to get into the car park and find a space.

There is a toilet block but I didn't take any photos or use them so can't advise on that.

There is also a little cafe but it was shut at nighttime.

Wembury has a reputation of being one of the best places in the UK to come rockpooling, and I can see why after the experience I had.

The highlight for me, was finding a baby Cuttlefish. Absolutely made my year seeing that!

I highly recommend people try this at least once in their life. If you can get your own UV torch you will potentially enjoy the experience more (depending on how good your I.D skills are). If you have no clue what you're looking at stick near the volunteers and staff members and you can't go far wrong!

We visited the centre and went on a rockpool safari and it was absolutely incredible! Jake (the engagement officer? I think) and the volunteers were fantastic: really welcoming, enthusiastic and so knowledgeable. We saw so many amazing creatures we never would have found without their expertise. Highly recommended, Wembury's marine life is fascinating and the folks at the Marine Centre will absolutely help you get the best out of your visit. Thanks so much guys, it was such a pleasure to meet you (and the sea cucumber) 💓🦀

Love Wembury beach, especially the rock pools. As with all South Hams beaches, access is via small roads only and parking is quite limited. We'll maintained by the National Trust and the marine centre is a great addition.

Popped in while walking along the south west coast path. Spoke to Jake who was extremely knowledgeable about the area and could answer all my questions about the great mewstone and other marine life enquiries. He even took the time to get out his telescope so we could have a better look at the island. I would thoroughly recommend anyone in the area to drop in and speak to the friendly staff or join in with one of the many activities they have organised over the summer. The night time rockpooling sounds especially interesting.

Matt and the volunteers are brilliant, friendly and informative. The centre is great and the film about Wembury's marine life is really interesting. We were lucky enough to book onto a rockpool safari and saw and learned so much. Check out their events if you are in the area. So inspiring to meet people with knowledge and passion for marine life and who are able to communicate this so well.
