Welcome Lets | Holiday Lets & Serviced Accommodation in York - York

North American Traveller Review. As I say in other reviews, if you’re from NA you will need to get used to the incredibly small dimensions of any rental accommodation in the UK. This is no different. However, having said that - the rental was clean, well suited and very nice. Quiet at night as well. We could see the Wall from our backyard. Size-wise, our suitcases were in the living room because there was no room for them in the bedroom. The only table to eat at was in the glassed-in conservatory at the back because the kitchen was so small even 2 people couldn’t fit. Again, however, this is normal and not specific to this unit but you should be aware and plan accordingly. The people at the corporation operating the rental were uniformly pleasant and helpful. The unit comes with a book of Operating Instructions. Which is absolutely required. For example, in NA if you wish to use the broiler on the oven you turn a labelled dial to Broil. Done. But in order to do the same thing here it required the manipulation of a Byzantine series of 3 dials including symbols and numbers and colours that had to be exactly correct, with no language on the oven itself. Guessing how to do this would have been hilariously impossible without the instructions. Also, from a NA traveller perspective oddities abound. There is a washing machine for clothing - but no dryer. The bathroom sink hot and cold are separate spouts so you cannot wash your hands in warm water - it’s either cold or very hot - take a choice. There is no mirror over the bathroom sink so when shaving or putting on woman’s makeup - you have to guess. You can’t just turn on a radiator for heat, the thermostat on the wall needs to be turned up first to above the current room temperature and then the radiators will work if they, in turn, are turned up. No issues per se, but it does add a layer we are not used to after a long day. Having said all of this no complaints. Very nice spot. Nice helpful people. Clean and tidy. Enjoyable.

We've just had a wonderful weekend with friends staying at 7 Blue Bridge Court. What a wonderfully spacious, airy and well equipped apartment. The parking space was great as we didn't need to use the car once we'd arrived, the city centre just a short walk along the river bank. The apartment was wonderfully clean and had everything we needed for our stay, having two bathrooms a bonus. Thank you for the ease of booking, we'll certainly be recommending the apartment to friends.

We have recently returned from a 4 night break in York, staying at 7 Blue Bridge Court, Fishergate. A wonderful apartment, just a short walk from York city centre.
The booking process through Welcome Lets was extremely easy and a couple of questions we had beforehand were swiftly and thoroughly answered by Debbie and her super friendly team.
The apartment was a perfect base for exploring York, with the dedicated parking space being an added bonus. The 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The owners really have thought of everything. The flat is so well equipped, you could even cook a Christmas dinner there!
We will definitely use Welcome Lets to book our next holiday - their service and attention to detail are outstanding.

A group of 4 adults who spent Christmas at 7 Bluebridge Apartment, and it was absolutely perfect. The property is immaculately clean, warm, comfortable, the kitchen equipped with more than you could need, so too the bedrooms. It is perfectly located with ample space for parking. We look forward to booking the apartment as a cluster (majority of the building) for a wedding in the summer.

Based on value for money and customer experience, I grant 2 stars. I would have granted more but the apartment wasn’t fire safe, has no WiFi for a week and welcome let’s are trying to keep the deposit for two water stains on the sofa which are easily cleaned. We also paid £175 for cleaning, so disappointing really. I would recommend Airbnb or a hotel. Unless you want them to steal your money? Then go ahead.

Had a really lovely stay in CityGate. Could not fault the apartment.
However, the holiday was ruined when I returned home to find I had received four parking fines of £100 each. I was never informed that there was a permit inside the apartment that was supposed to be visible in my car at all times. I received a message from them at 7pm on the last night of my holiday asking if I had put it in my car. I responded and said I wasn't sure what permit they were referring to, to which they replied saying it would be "somewhere within the apartment". I eventually found it shoved at the back of one of the very thick welcome books. I had flicked through the book to get things such as the wifi password and general instructions for how to use the appliances, but I obviously did not go through every single page as it was a very thick book.
There was no mention of a permit being required anywhere on the listing, and I received absolutely no information about this from Welcome Lets themselves when they gave me the checking in instructions. The apartment itself is listed on Airb&b as "Apartment no 26 with secure free parking", I was therefore under the impression that nothing else was required of me when it came to the parking situation. I gave Welcome Lets my registration plate and phone number, but that was the only thing they needed from me.
When I received the parking fines, I sent them a message on Airb&b and I received a very abrupt response and felt that they were unhelpful and simply did not care.

Stayed for 3 nights in Citygate, just 10 minutes outside the centre great location. Apartment was finished to a very high standard and came with all necessities even had a nice balcony. Will definitely return and could not recommend more to people visiting the city. 👍👍

Had no heating or hot water on our first night, when they came out to fix the problem the following day they couldn’t and left us with some heaters to heat an entire apartment. Paid over £200 a night for accommodation that was 11 degrees in December
