For years, I read (and re-read) the descriptions of the trips in their brochures... and dreamed of traveling with them. I finally took the plunge in 2017 to the Amalfi Coast and found that "slow-travel" was indeed the *best* way to experience a new place. The walks are stunningly beautiful, the food is always exquisite, and the hotels are carefully chosen to allow the most relaxing vacations. Both the walk leaders and managers are very knowledgeable (and a delight to talk to!). Whether the groups are small or large, the opportunity to connect with like-minded travelers who enjoy nature is always a bonus. I can't wait for my next trip! ITALIAN HILLTOP TOWNS, WALKING TOUR - This Etruscan Tuscany walk was unlike any other vacation experience we've ever had. It was more than just a hike; it was a journey through time and a chance to see a part of Italy that most tourists miss. Our tour was in the Fall and the weather was mild. We walked along ancient trails that have been used for centuries, through stone-cut paths that felt like stepping back in time. The medieval towns jutting out from rocks were like something out of a fairytale, and the farm visits and tastings of local foods gave us a real taste of Tuscan culture.

What truly set this walk apart was the feeling of being completely immersed in nature. We were surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves, and while walking the only sounds we could hear were the birds and the wind rustling. It was a complete escape from tourist towns. And we encountered very few other people on the paths

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for an unforgettable vacation. It's perfect for hikers, history buffs, and anyone who wants to get off the beaten path and explore the real Italy. Our tour guides were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and shared fascinating insights about Etruscan history and culture. It was a one-of-a-kind experience and the customer service was truly amazing!!!

My wife and I are 69 years old. We have been taking Wayfaring Walks for probably 20 years. The Western Isles of Scotland, The Outer Hebrides of Scotland, Coast to Coast England, The Southern Coast of Wales, The Northern Coast of Ireland, and most recently, the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia. Assuming you have no orthopedic issues or otherwise, these trips are a phenomenal way to feel the true heart of a country. Plus, the details of these trips are planned meticulously by the Wayfaring company. You stay at beautiful and clean hotels. The breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are top of the line and always representative of the country you are in. The tour guides are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and all of them know their countries and walks inside and out. We would have added Corsica and Sardinia to this list but COVID ruined that. If you are into photography, you will come home with hundreds of amazing photographs. We are so fortunate to have discovered this organization decades ago. The Wayfaring Tour owners have changed hands, however, we believe that the new owners have picked up exactly where the old owners left off, with attention to every detail and concern for every walker.

Wayfaring Walks to the Netherlands was my first ever such adventure, though I had been out of the US a few times before. I cannot describe the comfort, peace, and ease of this new guided experience for me. Ron and Alessandro were attuned to our needs and provided more than I could have asked for. The group was just the right size for great interactions and the walks themselves took us to places I felt were unique and important. The food provided was excellent. The environment is so interesting and full of impactful history.

What's my favorite Wayfaring walk? I don't have one, because I liked them all! I have been on at least a dozen over the past 20 years. Each walk spotlights the best of the local scenery, cuisine, and culture, curated by knowledgeable, funny, and friendly local guides. It is slow living at its best.

I've done 23 walks with Wayfaring Walks, going back to 1985. The walks are a wonderful combination of nature, exercise, and culture. The walks go through lovely countryside at a rate that allows you to enjoy it. It also encourages one to get into condition to be ready for the walk. The walks also expose you to historical and every-day aspects of the culture of other countries. The walks are well-staffed and organized to make it very relaxing for the walkers.

We loved our walking tour of Yorkshire, England, in May of 2024. Our guide Alan was very experienced and knowledgeable. Our group leader Lynne paid attention to all the details that come with organizing a trip like this. Hotels and food more than met our expectations. Walking was interspersed with visiting interesting local sights each day. It was a wonderful and memorable time.
