Fantastic cruise from Glasgow to the Kyles of Bute, will definitely book one of the other excursions in the future. The engine staff were more than happy to explain how it all worked and every member of the waverly team was brilliant. Accidentally left my phone at a table and a lovely female staff member returned it to me before i even knew it was lost!

Second trip on the Waverley and it didn't disappoint. Although the weather threatened to rain it didn't, so a dry sailing to and from Dunoon.
The walk around the decks and down to the engine room a standard part of the trip but most of our time spent on the top deck with the best views of both shores of the Clyde.
Be prepared to wave at friendly Glaswegians (homeowners, walkers and shipbuilders) as you pass them.

First time on the Waverley and what an experience! The kids loved it too. We went from Greenock and Isle of Bute where we spent a couple of hours. Such history on the boat, learnt a lot!

See our full video review on our experience under The Olive Tree Family on all social media platforms.

Clevedon to Bideford return. Amazing day. Sat on deck 90% of the time, through wind, rain, shine and challenging conditions! Interesting and informative commentary about passing landmarks. Delicious food at affordable prices. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly skilled crew. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Already planning the next excursion, in a different location.

I booked tickets for the Penarth to Porthcawl trip as a Father's Day/birthday present for my parents. They cost £46 each, which isn't cheap, however the itinerary sounded good with time ashore in Porthcawl. As Penarth is 30 miles from where we live, I checked my emails and the company website before we left home to make sure the trip was still running. I even checked the shipping forecast for the Bristol Channel which was favourable. When we arrived at Penarth Pier for the 10:45 departure, there was already a large queue of passengers. We overheard a passenger saying that the Waverley was running half an hour late, however we were unsure how true this was as there were no staff/volunteers to ask. The Waverley arrived late carrying passengers from Clevedon. Whilst we were waiting for them to disembark, we noticed that a lot of people were leaving the queue and heard comments that it wasn't going to Porthcawl. Eventually, a man in a hi viz vest (presumably a volunteer) happened to mention to a family behind us that they were trying to dodge a storm and, therefore, the Porthcawl trip wasn't running. Instead, it was going up the channel to the Severn Bridge and returning without docking. It was also going to be 1.5 hours shorter than the Porthcawl trip. My psrents, along with many others, didn't fancy that and decided not to go. I appreciate that the iterinary had to be changed, however the crew must have known about the expected storm when they left Clevedon. Passengers should have been emailed and an announcement posted on the website. At the very least there should have been notices on the pier and at the ticket office. Refunds aren't availble; instead you get a credit note to use on another trip. As The Waverley is leaving the Bristol Channel this weekend, there is no opportunity for my parents to go until next year. This means that I'm now £92 out of pocket so I couldn't afford to arrange an alternative gift. I emailed almost a week ago asking for a credit note but I still haven't had a response. I like to support charities but I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication. £92 is a substantia amount of money and I'm wary about booking a trip in 2025 in case the same thing happens again. I feel that refunds should be an option in view of the high ticket prices.

Had an amazing day trip to the Kyles of Bute with a short stopover in Tighnabruaich. The weather may have been less than ideal but the boat and crew made up for it. Plus, the scenery was incredible.
As a tip, try to find a good spot to sit next to a window on the upper deck if it rains, sit back and relax. It's a wonderful way of exploring the west coast of Scotland and we will certainly be back.

Do not use this company, They have no regard for the care of their customers. They abandoned children, the elderly & the disabled in England yesterday and expected them to make their own way back to Wales at their own expense! Cost my mother in law and her 84-year-old mother over £200 to get home!
