Fascinating and informative, the entire windmill is open to view even though it’s undergoing restoration - be aware that the sails, cap, and fantail are currently off the building but you can see them in the grounds of the complex. Narrow, steep steps to climb to get up inside the windmill so assess your mobility levels - I have a weak knee and managed it with no problems. Entrance fee is very cheap and the views from the higher windows are lovely. On the same site are several shops, eateries, and the museum of ritual life and RAF exhibition. A full day out! When we went things were closing around 3pm so plan that in.

Lovely little site with plenty of things of interest from the museum to the windmill to the cafe and shops. Great for a visit! The trains are great value for money and the play area was impeccable with plenty of seating and things for kids to do. The grassed area was clean and a great place for the more lively of your party to run around and let off steam! Definitely worth a visit!

Stopped for a bite to eat at Waltham Windmill. Chose the quaint Hvide Sande Danish Restaurant based in an old railway carriage. The Danish Hotdog was delicious.

Lovely place to spend a couple of hours. You pay to go in the windmill. Model steam railway £1 to ride on. Very interesting rural/ R.A.F museum, entry by donation. Cafe, toilets, few shops & children's play park on site. The car park is quite small.
