I cannot say enough wonderful things about Brian and Lynne. Simply put, they are lovely, lovely people that make you feel at home. The rooms are large and clean. The beds are super comfy. Brian makes a LUSH full English breakfast and the duvets are the warmest, fluffiest to snuggle in with on a cold night. My family traveled from California for the holidays during not only a surge in the Covid pandemic but also cold and flu season, to which my entire family succumbed. Brian and Lynne went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. It was my first time staying in an English Guest House and I can honestly say that when my English hubby first suggested it, I was a bit dubious. But the Walkers have become like family and we will definitely be back when we next come to visit the in laws.

Love this place so much!! Atmosphere is lovely and relaxed. Beds are comfortable. Staff down to earth. Room 8 has a nice view of the street. It's out the way of the heavy noisy drinkers too. Bathroom is clean. Price was very good in my opinion. I'd recommend this for long stays as it's close to amenities like the supermarket. Very near the beach. Can't be happier with the staff. WELL DONE ✅

Having stayed here for a third time whilst attending a magicians convention I thought it was time I did a review. I've stayed at 4 other places over the last 8 years and the first thing that makes this stand out over other b&b's in South Shields is the friendliness of the owners Brian and Lynne.||On this occasion we stayed in the family room situated on the top floor. The room was spacious and had a double and single bed along with small table to sit at in a small bay window. The usual tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room along with complimentary biscuits and these were replenished daily.|This particular room had a small 'pod' style bathroom which whilst was very clean it was not suited to someone of a large stature. Wifi was available throughout the building although on occasions it did drop off when in the 'attic' room. ||The breakfast content was the usual b&b standard but thankfully not swimming in grease like it can be. There were cereals and juices available and a regular top up of toast when required. ||The whole place was very clean and modern and didn't look 'tired' so was it was obvious it was very well looked after. There was no dedicated parking but plenty of on street parking available. The location is perfect as it far enough away from the town centre yet close enough to walk there in a few minutes. In the other direction is a short walk to the beach, amusements and fairground. ||To sum up a perfectly located, clean, modern, friendly and reasonably price B&B that I would highly recommend. |

Brian and Lynne went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. As it was Christmas and we have an autistic 5 year old who is obsessed with dogs, they even bought her a robotic dog to put under the tree! It was my first time staying in an English Guest House and I can honestly say that the Walkers have become like family and we will definitely be back when we next come to visit the in laws.

Been visiting south Shields on business and pleasure many times and the Walkerville is the place to stay, Brian and Lynne are the perfect host who make you feel welcome will always and do recommend. Breakfast are great, rooms homely with WiFi and sky TV with there own showers and toilets. Close to all the eateries and beach. Cannot recommend enough.

Walkerville is ideally placed on Ocean road, so is very easy to find for newcomers. It is a few minutes walk from the centre so far enough away to be quiet, but near enough to get to everything. The park is immediately opposite, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is no dedicated car parking, although there is plenty of street parking directly outside and in the neighbouring streets. However, this could get busy in peak season. The rooms are traditional BnB and have free Wi-Fi. The website shows the rooms clearly and describes the services available.||||Breakfast was nicely cooked and was the usual BnB English Breakfast, starting with cereals, juice and tea/coffee. It sets you up for the day. It was served by the hosts Lynne and Brian who are very friendly without being in your face. ||||It is very reasonably priced, so if you want a traditional Guest House that's clean, in a great location with friendly hosts, give Walkerville a try.

We had a lovely friendly weekend experience at Walkerville Guest House. The room, food and service was excellent. The people are warm and friendly. It is certainly worth considering this guest house when you visit in or around South Shields. Well place for restaurants and the sea and parks. We will be certainly visiting again.
