The hosts are lovely, the accommodation, meals, events were perfect. A refreshing recharge break and a chance to meet lively people. I have now returned to my artistic bent. I thoroughly recommend it.

A fabulous welcome to an amazing house - met by two lovely organisers Sacha and Wendy with such beautiful energy - I just knew I was in the right place at the right time (and for my 1st retreat too!) Everything and everyone was so well cared for and catered for - we lacked for nothing, new friendships happening from the get-go was just the vibe here. Would I do it again - most definitely and to be honest, I’m not sure I would risk going elsewhere in case they hadn’t reached this standard.

Location was perfect: accommodation superb: service throughout from all the team was first class: a well thought out retreat and activities. The materials provided for each art/glass activity was excellent

We stayed two nights in the basement apartment in April, the weather was sunny and warm for the time of year.

Pros: The apartment is clean and spacious, comfortable beds, a very large bath and plenty of hot water. To have an outside area was nice. The location is lovely, you can walk to Westbourne in ten minutes and Bournemouth in 20 - 25 through the gardens which is a lovely walk. It was quiet at night and we slept well. The toiletries provide were a nice touch.

Cons The apartment is a little more worn than it looks in the pictures, the garden had broken decking and needed weeding, there wasn't enough cushions for the outside furniture and it doesnt get much sun, but we were early in the season so perhaps the owners had not yet prepared for summer.
The kitchen is short on bowls, the doors are all awkward to unlock and the stairs down to the apartment are very steep. The sofa bed is very uncomfortable, the kitchen might have had under cupboard lights once but they don't work now so either very bright lights on or dark. 4pm check in is late.

Overall I would visit again due to the great location, nice little outside space and quiet street, but I might take an airbed for my daughter!

I stayed with my partner in this 1 bedroom apartment over Christmas.
The apartment was lovely and very clean. A well equipped kitchen, free parking and WiFi.
We also received an excellent service from the host. A place I'm happy to recommend and to come back to.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at gatehouse! The house was amazing, perfect for socialising with lovely outdoor space. Wimborne is a perfect little town with numerous pubs and cafes and only a 20 min drive to the beach.
