Very well stocked information centre. Lots of guides available for local walks and bought a guide (ยฃ2) of places in the town that doubled as filming locations in the original The Wicker Man. Located right next to a free car park and public toilets.

This is an excellent Information Centre. This Information centre was closed like many others until it was reopened and is now run by volunteers. The two ladies on duty were very chatty and obviously loved meeting people. They also sell maps, books, calendars and a great selection of souvenirs. It really is a terrific resource for Kirkcudbright. Highly recommended.

Dropped into the visitor centre today while visiting Kirkcudbright. I think the lady we spoke to was called Jenn. She was very informative and so obviously knew and loved the region. She recommended a beach a short drive away that we could take our dog on our way back to Newtown Stewart where we are staying. The beach was perfect, thanks so much. Missed the Coo Palace though ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

A friendly little information centre run by volunteers. It's conveniently located on the harbourfront and has a wheelchair accessible entrance and free toilets next door. The lady I spoke to was very welcoming and helpful with information about what to see in Kirkcudbright. Plenty of free info about local attractions and events as well as OS maps of Galloway. Some nice gifts and travel books too. You can get Cream O' Galloway ice-cream here in an imaginative choice of flavours. Tried the crunchy banoffee ice-cream, way above average quality! I certainly recommend calling in here when visiting Kirkcudbright.

The Information Centre is friendly and informative. But I would specifically wish to recommend Fiona Lee with her Arts Tour.. ยฃ10.00 for an hour and a half. Sounds good value for money, don't you think?. But, in fact, the value is SPECTACULAR! Fiona is so knowledgable and interesting, full of smiles, sparkling wit and the ability to impart vast amounts of information, whilst fielding our questions - all whilst zipping from house, to house, garden to garden and street to street. On our next visit, we will eagerly take this tour again. Fiona is a credit to the town and has left us with a deep desire to return in the future.
