The most amazing holiday from start to finish! The ranch was everything I expected and more nothing is too much trouble for these guys. We were made to feel very at home the accommodation was second to none the food was amazing and the horses were fantastic. If you want a real working ranch experience this is the place to go. Can’t recommend it enough and I can’t wait to go back! Robbie, Fernando, Barbara and the boys are so knowledgeable and really know how to make you feel welcome I loved it.

A wonderful ‘must do’ experience. The team that looks after you is brilliant from booking through to airport drop off . The scenery is big and spectacular. Ponies very well behaved , sure footed and safe for 5.5 hours of riding a day including canters for 15 minutes at a time. Pugee was the main guide, she is so helpful, speaks great English and understands the horses and riders capabilities. The tack is traditional Mongolian , and you will ride longer length than usual. In trot and canter you are off the horses back . Mounting and dismounting is supervised by the horsemen as these ponies can be sharp and you only take your feet out of the stirrups when you are told to! The ponies live as a herd and it is wonderful to see how they live as a community.
The back up team of cook and driver are equally superb. Take warm clothes as the temperature drops at night, camping mattress and an inflatable pillow, phone charger packs. The other guests were super and all under half our age and it was an absolute pleasure to meet them. I wish I had been fitter but will know for next time.

I have been a client of Unicorn Trails for a couple of years, going on several holidays in different countries, and have been consistently impressed by the quality of both the holidays themselves and the service from the agency.
My main concerns when booking a riding holiday are horse welfare and rider safety, and with Unicorn Trails I know I can have complete trust that both of these will be ensured to high standards.
The people at Unicorn Trails are lovely, super responsive, and knowledgeable. Having also booked riding holidays through other agencies I can safely say they have been the best provider, from ease of booking, correctness of the information regarding the trip, up to the post-holiday feedback form.
And last but not least, their catalogue of riding destinations around the world is fabulous.

Our second year in the Pyrenees, had a great time, scenery fantastic. Nicole looked after us very well. Horses are lovely and a brilliant guide. Well recommended. Carcassonne’s medieval city is a must, if you’ve got time.

I had an incredible trip to Portugal on the Blue Coast Trail. Massive thank you to Sarah King, the travel consultant who introduced me to this tour. She was very helpful and encouraging throughout the entire sales process.

Miguel (leader) was absolutely excellent. He's a very experienced horseman who clearly cares a lot about his horses and his guests. He's charming and funny, which means he's able to bring the group members together easily and everyone has a lot of fun.

The hotels were all a very high quality, and the food was fantastic. I was really lucky with the group I had, they were mixed ages, and coming from France, Canada, Belgium, Denmark and Germany.

I wouldn't hesitate to book again - thank you!

I used Unicorn trails to book the Atlantic Coast trek in Mimizan, France. Unicorn were very helpful to assist me finding a suitable riding holiday that fitted with my availability and ability, and very responsive to my multiple queries. The riding holiday was fabulous! Great horses (mainly anglo-arab ex-race-horses), great company, great food, great instruction from Michel. I really liked the way he worked us and the horses so that they and we were all riding independently, while still together. He clearly knows his horses really well and adores them all (they adore him too!) and took time to ensure we rode the way the horses respond best to. Coastal gallops were a real highlight.

As an experienced rider, I highly recommend booking a ride through Unicorn Trails. The booking process is easy, and the ride descriptions on the website make it straightforward in selecting an experience suited to the ability level of the rider. I booked a 4-night holiday in France and fell in love with the beautiful countryside and happy, athletic horses. The food was exquisite. 5/5!

The task of arranging equestrian short holidays falls to me for our group of 9 horse riding club friends. It's not easy to please everyone but with a short list of requests I begun contacting travel companies to see if they could offer us suitable options. From the first reply back from Sarah at Unicorn trails I knew she was the travel agent for us. Every email was replied to in jig time and all our questions answered. She recommended a number of options and we went with one she had experienced herself. I would highly recommend Sarah at unicorn trails and say it was a pleasure dealing with her. For the review of our actual holiday I will add a piece written by one of my 8 ladies. Maria

I recently spent three days riding with a group of riding club friends at Vale de Ferreiros. It has been one of the best experiences of my life. I arrived with no expectation other than to ride a nice horse. I have come away so enthusiastic about dressage which I never had time for.
We got a really friendly welcome from Phillapa and on our last day, her charming dad Victor even watched some of our lessons and took time to have a toast with us in leaving.
The instructor Fernando was really patient and accommodated my dream of riding a stallion on my last day and allowed me to experience a Spanish walk, flying changes, passage, shoulder in. We were all so safe on these most experienced, shining, truly loved, and safe dressage horses, taking us on hacks through beautiful wild poppy fields in the countryside and another through the picturesque village of Pego. We got a tack room to leave our equipment in, and the ground staff were all so friendly too. The stables were a very short walk from the accommodation which was a large house that can sleep 10 or cottages with kitchen and living areas. We had a mixture of both.
The accommodation was top class, immaculately clean, with fridge, tea and coffee facilities. We had an veranda with sun lounges and the room was very spacious. All our meals were included and the lovely staff catered for our vegetarian and celiac needs.
I would recommend that everyone bring someone with them on foot to catch the beautiful moments on camera. These are memories I will have forever.
The swimming pool was a total bonus which I availed of on a sunny day between morning and evening rides. I shed tears of happiness on these magnificent horses and am smiling all the way back to Ireland, so enthused to ride more dressage and improve my riding. It was great value, and the experience of a lifetime with the loveliest ladies, and staff of Vale de Ferreiros. If you’re thinking about going here, stop wasting time- it’s really something special. Louise
