Great setting and gardens. These were a real highlight and more akin to being at a National Trust than a hotel.
We got a last minute deal with various discounts/bundled food allowance etc. Wouldn't have wanted to pay full price.

Room was a good size with twin aspect windows looking onto the gardens. Very nice. Traditional room but good quality.

Some elements of housekeeping/maintenance could be better. Our bath had some weird marks (OK for using the shower) and there was a blocked drain smell in the corridor.

Outdoor pool is stunning and was fortunately quite quiet when we were there. I overheard talk of it being child free at certain times but not sure if that is enforced.

The gardens and the outdoor pool are certainly my highlights.

Not so good things:
Dinner was very expensive and not particularly impressive, you're going to spend nearly double your £100 food allowance as a couple even if choosing the lower cost dishes, cheapest glass of wine is £11, £16 of service charge that we weren't expecting either etc etc.

Indoor pool not great have stayed in far cheaper hotels with better ones, hot tub is pool temperature. Sauna's are just a couple of small two person ones in the changing rooms, gym pretty small.

We just got back from a wonderful 2 night anniversary stay. The service was fantastic across all areas.we were looked after very well. Finley in the bar and lounge was helpful, friendly, and efficient. The other bar staff were also very good. We enjoyed the grounds, as well as using the heated outdoor pool, along with the gym and indoor jacuzzi. |We ate in the restaurant both evenings, which was delightful. Breakfast was also memorable with lovely views of the grounds and delicious poached to perfection eggs and avocado. We would recommend a stay here if you want to relax and be pampered.

Me and my wife booked a 2 night spa break here and that's not what we got if I was rating it as a hotel break id give it a 3 star . On arrival the hotel looked grand and the grounds were lovely . We were checked in and asked if we would like afternoon service which I said no thankyou.we went to our room and it was fairly disappointing the room smelt not very fresh and sort of like an old basement the room was not to my taste but I can look past that the furniture was very tatty and paint work was scratched up in places. We both had a massage which was lovely after that we then went into the pool area which was extremely uninviting kids in pool and pool area not in great condition so we skipped that and went to room to get changed for dinner where we then had someone use the card to enter the room whilst we were unchanged we later found out it was afternoon service which I specifically said no to. Next day we decided to go out for the day due to the amount of kids in hotel pool areas and we decided to arrive back for 5 when it stated adult only swim times these times were not adhered to parents letting kids scream and splash people that were doing lengths . Don't get me wrong kids should have fun but perhaps this shouldn't be sold as a spa break .we managed to have a nice weekend but that was basically by finding stuff to do out the hotel and not enjoying a spa break like we thought we were going to . I wouldnt bother going back plenty of nicer places in my opinion

We stayed for 3 nights while visiting friends and family. The garden room was perfect for us but weirdly the TV had no sound on just 1 channel, the others were fine. The hotel did not fix this despite us letting them know, The staff were very helpful. We had dinner one evening: a nice steak and huge fish portion. Our room was in the grounds and they had a golf cart which you could ask to collect you from your room or take you back.

I had the absolute best time of my life during my stay at Tylney Hall Hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything was just perfect – the setting, the service, the atmosphere – it was all so peaceful, relaxing, and luxurious. It truly felt like a proper escape from the real world.

A special thank you goes to Leena at reception, who was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. Her kindness and genuine hospitality made such a big impression on us that we decided to extend our stay by an extra day – and we’re so glad we did! She is a real credit to the hotel.

Tylney Hall is a magical place, and I can’t wait to return. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!

Nothing can take away from the impressive building and grounds, they are truly picturesque and photo worthy. BUT we arrived for a one night stay for our wedding anniversary and thought we would splash out on a venue we thought would give it all. HOWEVER It’s overpriced for what it is, we paid extra and upgraded to mansion house but our room was a like an oven and had little sleep. The decor was dated which we thought could only add character and add to the charm of a country house but the room was just in dire need of a good clean and maintenance. The radiator was full of dust and hairband, the bathroom floor tiles grouting was all grotty/mouldy and needed vast maintenance. We had booked for chocolate strawberries to make our anniversary extra special but they forgot. The food was hit and miss, starters and breakfast was underwhelming and overpriced. Eggs overcooked and muffin stale, and pancakes were clearly not fresh as incredibly dry. Although our fillet steak at dinner was thoroughly enjoyable. Drinks are overpriced, £20 plus for a cocktail is outrageous. UNFORTUNATELY this was a rare outing without kids and Tynley Hall made our experience utterly disappointing. The team at Tynley Hall need to do better! I have included pictures of the good and the bad!

I booked the Jane Austen Afternoon Tea for my friend’s birthday. The menu featured the usual sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats, but also “cheese toasties”.|When it came, we were given one quarter of a cheese toastie. We asked for some more as there were two of us, and were told we could have one quarter more, as just one quarter each was the maximum per person allowed.|The sandwiches were okay - filling a little sparse but okay. What I assume was the “signature plum cake” was dry and inedible (we ate the white chocolate envelopes off the tops and left the cakes themselves). The macarons were nice. The little tartlets were a bit strange but fine. The scones were nice - cake-ier than usual scones but we liked them. The tea was…tea. The service was fine.|For £41.50 each plus service charge, for what is described on their website as “the best afternoon tea in Basingstoke & Hampshire”, I found this severely lacking.|This was absolutely not worth the best part of £100, and calling it “Jane Austen themed” is a complete gimmick. The location and beautiful grounds do all the heavy lifting in making this feel special.|Sadly I won’t be returning and wouldnt recommend.||I wrote an email of complaint and had to chase it up multiple times before somebody replied to me. The response was a load of platitudes and an offer of 20% off food at a future visit - as if I ever intend to visit again!||Beautiful grounds, overpriced and pretentious afternoon tea, awful customer service.

Tylney Hall is a truly wonderful location. The house and gardens are impressive and spacious. The staff are very friendly and efficient.

We stayed in one of the garden rooms, which easily fit the four of us (kids age 6 and 9). The pool was a big draw for the kids. We had dinner in the lounge area, which was good and had some good options for the kids. The breakfast was excellent and a nice finish for our stay.

My one critique would have to be that the wasps are a bit of an annoyance when sitting outside 🙂
