We attended the tea tasting session as the weather wasn't conducive to much more than that for us. The session itself was very informative and our host made is feel very welcome. The tea itself was wonderful and we did purchase some from the shop afterwards to continue our experience going forwards. I have taken off a star because when you first arrived it feels like you are in the wrong place due to the complete lack of obvious signpostinf and car parking.

We had a fantastic tour of the tea garden courtesy of our friendly and informative guide Rod. We were able to pick our own tea, take it home to oxidise and dry it, it was delicious- especially considering that you’ve done all that yourself. A truly unique experience!

Excellent experience, hard to believe a tea tasting could last 2.5 hours; but with a beautiful walk through the plantations, actually picking some tea, a walk along the creek and through the orchard, then the tasting itself it was an afternoon well spent. John was an excellent guide, well informed and friendly. We learnt a lot about tea appreciation, and the tasting was fun in the reading room - exquisitely beautiful. Thank you Tregothnan Int Tea Centre.

We spent a very enjoyable 2.5 hours learning all about how tea is grown and produced. Our guide Mike was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, telling us not just about tea, but also the history of the local area and the flora we came across. Would highly recommend.

There was a certain amount of head scratching while we prepared for this visit. Google Maps shows the International Tea Centre to be an old garage while in fact the Reading Room is about 50 yards down the road towards the inlet. If you're driving down narrow country roads and over cattle grids you're probably in the right place. Limited off road parking is next to the Woodshed which also houses a very clean pair of toilets.
We had booked the guided tour and our Tour Guide, Rod, was excellent. He clearly knows a lot about tea and has a passion for it and Tregothnan. The walk to the fields is hilly and uneven (typical of any unmade public footpath) but the views are stunning (see attached). Rod was able to tell us about a few hundred years of history of the area which was very interesting.
We were shown some of the tea plants and he told us what they contained and described how they were grown and harvested, and how they eventually get turned into the tea we drink.
Rod provided us with small bags and encouraged us to pick our own tea and told us how to turn it into something drinkable at home.
On returning to the Reading Room we had a tea tasting session and the opportunity to browse around the shop.
This was a fascinating visit and to be honest I had no particular interest in tea at the start of it! The tour and tasting took three hours but it really flew by. I can thoroughly recommend this to anyone, whether they think they have an interest in tea or not.

Title: A Truly Amazing Tea Walk Experience

Review:

Our recent tea walk experience was absolutely amazing! We had the pleasure of being accompanied by the friendly and knowledgeable guide, John. Throughout the tour, we learned so much about tea - from its various tastes to its fascinating origins.

The tea walk took place in a beautifully restored estate that offered breathtaking views of the surrounding area. As we strolled through the estate, we were pleasantly surprised to discover a variety of special fauna, adding to the enchanting atmosphere.

The organizers have impeccably curated the tea walk, ensuring that every aspect was carefully thought out and beautifully executed. The attention to detail was evident, making it clear that every penny was well worth the investment.

Overall, our visit was an absolute delight. We had an incredible time, and it was evident that the tea walk was designed to provide a truly memorable experience. We highly recommend this tour to all tea enthusiasts and anyone interested in immersing themselves in the captivating world of tea.

Thank you to the team behind the tea walk for creating such a wonderful and informative experience. We look forward to returning in the future!
