Firstly £8 to park. If I was in the town centre I would expect this but I’m on some roundabout with only a dreary Harvester and a KFC.||The bad night is not entirely Travelodge’s fault as it can’t be responsible for its guests however-|Our first room overlooked a roof with aircon units/ extractor fans. Not ideal on a warm night. The noise was horrible. Fortunately we were able to move rooms. Unfortunately many of the rooms away from the air con units overlook the car park and front door and Harvester entrance which is very noisy with chatter. |The room was so hot, a small desk fan wasn’t much help, eventually we had to open the window. We were woken up at 2.45am by noisy guests in the room above then 4.45am by a loud group chatting and laughing below our window. |Maybe it’s because it was August but I guess what I am saying is if you want a quiet night this hotel isn’t for you. |It’s walkable to a B&Q etc and an Asda. Otherwise there really is nothing here. It is very close to the M5 for a fast getaway. ||The room itself was fine, small with a comfortable king bed and tiny TV ||The reception staff we met were delightful.

Found the location easily , hotel LOOKED ok... but that's where the positives end. Arrived 45 mins early wasn't allowed to check in as room was being cleaned ( which is fine we were early). Was told to scan the QR code to pay the £8 parking charge which ups the amount to £10 , So I paid at the machine £8.. I young girl came up to me and said she was homeless and where was I from so I told her and then she wanted to know where we was going I told her somerset.. she asked could she come with me? .. er no. When our room was ready we got in the lift ,that and the corridors needed hoovering. Our room was no better! It was a super hot and was supplied with a little fan. Noisy hotel. Not sure what's going on with this hotel, could be for homeless! But definitely last time I'm booking a travelodge anywhere! As this is the second time ive had issues with the last two hotels and they have never bothered to acknowledge my concerns . But my biggest hate is unclean rooms and bathrooms.

This hotel overlooks a very busy roundabout. The room we were given was like being next to a motorway. We tried shutting the window but the handle got stuck. We were moved to the back of the hotel and it was much quieter. The window handle was also not working. The hotel was run down. The takeaway breakfast was poor. The shower shampoo/soap dispenser was broken. I would not stay there again.

Nice and clean. Big rooms and nice price. The Wifi only for 30min free, that's like ryanair, you must pay every little thinks! No Breakfirst , only to go (5.95 are to expensive for this little box) , better you go in the restaurant beside (pic) for 4,99 pounds.! Friendly staff. Next 100 meters are a KFC

Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend

Stayed here for a week and honestly wouldn’t return. The parking was overpriced, which was frustrating enough, but the room itself was worse. It felt like a sauna day and night — no proper ventilation, just stifling heat. We ended up buying two extra fans, so we had four going at once, and even then, they just pushed hot air around.

The bed was dirty with stains and hairs, clearly not cleaned properly. The overall hygiene of the room left a lot to be desired. On top of that, the reception staff were unprofessional and not particularly helpful. We had constant issues with the keycard — almost every day my partner had to go down to reception to get it reset. While I was waiting in the hallway, someone else had the same issue, so clearly it’s a common problem.

For what we paid, the experience was seriously underwhelming. There are better options in Cheltenham — I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Nice room, lovely staff, and would love to give five stars but let down by two niggles, a charge for parking, not excessive but a bit of bind. However biggest problem being room was way too hot. A fan was provided but was noisy and did little too lower the temperature. Although it was warm weekend it wasn't on one of the really hot spells so let down an otherwise pretty good hotel.

Just what you would expect from a Travelodge. Rooms were neat and tidy. Plenty of parking although it is £8 a night which is plenty dear enough to say it is right on the edge of town.
There is a bus station / park and ride just next door so getting into town centre is easy.
The staff were a plus point. Always friendly and helpful

Just to point out the Harvester next door does not take dogs.

I stayed during a recent heatwave, and wasn't able to sleep, as there is no air conditioning and the windows don't open. The room was absolutely roasting, and the single fan blowing the hot air across our two beds didn't help. I contacted customer support, but was given the brush off. Very poor service from the company, and a hotel that doesn't fulfil the core purpose of hotels.
