I booked a solo trip to Nepal and Bhutan with travel and trek and Terry Crosby built an unforgettable and very personalized odyssey for me. I could not be happier that I found him online - I interviewed several trip planners and he was by far the most responsive, detailed and approachable. Terry has longstanding relationships and much experience in various destinations worldwide, and I would highly recommend his company for solo or group planning for any locale where they can offer their travel services, guided or not. In my individual case, Terry answered all of my many major and minor questions with equal respect and thoroughness, and he encouraged me along the planning process to weigh in with things i did and did not want to do. Having never been to this region of the world, he offered very helpful suggestions once he had a solid idea of my fitness and interests, and tailored a perfectly suited trip at a pace that worked for me at a reasonable price point. I had experiences I will hold in my heart for my lifetime, I still chat with my Nepali guide, and I even got unexpectedly blessed by a Lama in Bhutan! Deeply meaningful experiences. Additionally, I can’t omit that Terry has the kind of personality that - even though we never met in person - I honestly felt like he was a trusted friend. I would not hesitate to book with travel and trek again and I would highly recommend his company and services. Thanks again Terry and my best to you and your family!

I have just returned from an absoluyely brilliant Sahara experience (Apr 2024). I was fortunate enough to travel with the owners (Terry & Nikki), who's experience between them was absolutely invaluable. I expected the Sahara to be hot, and it was hot, very hot. I did not expect the food to be so good, how on earth they do that in those conditions is beyond me.
The hot conditions demanded flexibility and they just seem to happen, seamlessly, and that included a 4x4 extraction at the end (unplanned). This itinerary is about the right length, it flows well and the sense of freedom is immense in what is a huge open space. Loved the stars at night.
I would strongly recommend "Travel and Trek" for their service and commitment. Their communication is excellent, fast and personal. And I would recommend the Sahara to anyone who is looking for something different, and extremely memorable.

Just got back from the Sahara adventure 2018. It was a great experience. The travel arrangements and hotel bookings etc all worked out perfectly (there was nothing anyone could have done about the airline delays on our first day - caused by snow in the UK). The Dellarosa Hotel in Marrakech was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel Zaghro in Ouarzazate was clean and comfortable - although I was amused by the unusual way that they tried to cripple you by putting a shower tray 6 inches inside the bathroom!

The minibus journeys were well organised and the driver was excellent. The stops were good and the views from the Atlas mountains were immense.

The stop at Ait Ben Haddou as very interesting. This was a very special place.

The trek itself was fantastic. The cameliters and cooks were friendly and helpful. The food was brilliant through out. The menu was well conceived, providing the right balance for the energy requirements for the trek. The dishes were fresh and tasty - a real achievement on two gas burners in the middle of a dessert. The fresh bread cooked in the improvised oven was to die for.

I think that our group jelled brilliantly and we struck up a really good relationship with our Berber support team. They were funny and friendly and were ready to join in with our fun and games. The sight of them trying to do the hand actions to Scout campfire songs will live with me for a long time! However, I think it might be some time before they forgive us for beating them 5 - 3 in the England vs Morocco international football match!

Our guide Hicham Tora was awesome. Right from the very start (when he had waited patiently at the airport for 5 hours for our delayed flight) he demonstrated a willingness to go far beyond what might be expected of him to ensure that we had a very special trip. He was extremely knowledgable and his explanations about Moroccan and Berber history were engaging and insightful. He led the trek itself with confidence and managed to pace the walking just right - which was no easy task given the different physical capabilities of the group.

Hicham was always good humoured and professional. But most of all he was relaxed and human. He did so many things to ensure that we all had the most amazing time. I can not heap enough praise on this young man.

I would recommend anyone to use Travel and Trek. It was an impeccably well organised adventure. And we raised lots of money for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Another amazing experience organised by Travel and Trek! My first experience was in March 2019 (Sahara Desert Trek) and the second in October 2019. (The Great Wall of China Trek) I travelled solo twice for both trips and made some amazing friends along the way. My China trip was organised perfectly and professionally once again by Travel and Trek, considering I booked only weeks in advance! Cheney, my Trek Guide was lovely and very helpful. After doing thorough research on the internet, Travel and Trek were the only company that made me feel at ease and so I didn't hesitate to book again. I can enthusiastically reiterate previous reviewers - from 1st contact through to back in the UK it was a well organised, superb trek. All emails were responded to and acted on quickly, the staff both here in the UK and Nepal were really helpful, for instance, I needed to hire a sleeping bag and a get a few other things, and I was actually taken to the shop and introduced to the owner! (Tip - you can save lots £££s on buying/hiring clothes in Kathmandu)
You really are looked after from day 1.

My 12 year old son and I have just returned from an absolutely brilliant Family Sahara trek. My advice would be to follow and use all their website information and you will be extremely well prepared. Nothing was too much for our family friendly Guide (Abdelatif), our Chef (Hosein) and our Camelteer (M’Hand). We could not have asked for more. Of course nothing would be possible without Travel & Trek’s Owner Terry Crosby who organised the trip for us and was on the end of the telephone throughout the process to answer all our questions.

I thoroughly recommend Travel & Trek.

From arrival at the airport, the whole team were amazing making the trip to the summit the most amazing experience I have ever had! No stone is left unturned and they really are the best.
