My two friends and I were keen to ride the Kirkpatrick C2C. We spent a lot of time trying to work out the logistics of getting our three bikes to the start point, then we spent even more time trying to find decent accommodation at convenient stopping points along the route that would provide secure storage for our bikes. We also realised that we were going to have to travel with panniers to carry all our kit. Finally, how were we going to get back to the start point to retrieve our car?

The answer was Trailbrakes! Peter and Christine at Trailbrakes have been tackling these problems for years and have established a great reputation for good service and above all, attention to detail. We contacted them and they came up with an ideal self-guided package for us. Christine picked us up at our ride end point, Eyemouth, where we left our car and then she drove us and our bikes to the start point in Portpatrick (even taking a detour via Stranraer to allow one of our group to get some dental work done). The accomodation along the C2C route was mainly in hotels and guest houses. All were of a very good standard and provided secure storage for our bikes and lovely breakfasts. Trailbrakes arranged for our luggage to be moved from stopping point to stopping point and provided paper maps and GPS files of the route. They even provided very useful recommendations of places of interest to see en route and places to stop for lunch.

Using Trailbrakes left us free to enjoy the beautiful scenery and quiet roads along the Kirkpatrick C2C. Thank you Peter and Christine.

Just back from a fantastic ride on the Traws Eryri trail across Snowdonia flawlessly organised by Peter and Christine at Trailbrakes. Everything worked like clockwork: the transfer from Llandudno to Machynlleth was spot-on and all the luggage pick-ups and drops were perfect; all the accommodation was welcoming and comfortable and all sent us off with a huge breakfast on board. The supplied GPX files saw us safely through some stunning - and seriously remote - scenery and we arrived on time (and very tired) back in Llandudno four days later. They even arranged four days of sunshine for us! Awesome trip, well-planned, perfectly executed - Trailbrakes take all the organisation stress out of a trip like this - all we had to do was turn up and pedal.

Can't rate Trailbrakes enough. Organised a custom C2C for us. Picked us up in Tynemouth and delivered us to Whitehaven, they arranged friendly and comfy accommodation and had our bags moved to each B&B/Hotel each day so they were waiting for us. Provided GPX files for the route and even managed to supply wall to wall sunshine! There are some beautiful views in the route, just don't forget to stop and take them in.

My partner and I spent 5 fantastic days cycling the Highlands and Islands tour in mid-September. The scenery was beautiful, the weather perfect, and most importantly, Peter and Christine's attention to detail and the information they provided us before our arrival in the UK made the trip fun, stress free and extremely memorable. I cannot recommend Trailbrakes highly enough.

Once again Trailbrakes delivered a first class cycling holiday for us. We asked for an itinerary from Edinburgh to Aberdeen and then back again over 2 weeks. We had a rest day in St Andrews and in Aberdeen, all other days were on the bike. The hotels were all of a high standard and we were particularly pleased with the sea view room at Stonehaven. We stayed at different towns on our return journey so got to explore new places. Thanks again to the Trailbrakes team for their attention to detail, ensuring our trip went smoothly from start to finish.

Just cycled King Alfreds Way using Trailbrakes (8-12/5/24). Terrific route with more exciting mtb riding than anticipated. Still quite a lot of mud to sap your energy, ‘go rounds’ available where trail flooded.
Definitely recommend full sus mountain bike and 5 days riding but then I’m over 70.
Usual great accommodation and planning from Trailbrakes! Take drink and snacks on Salisbury/Marlborough leg as nowt on trail.
The maps do not do justice to the trail which has fantastic scenery and every type of terrain.

It's a simple formula: drive to a beautiful part of the country; check in to your simple but welcoming accommodation; pack your rucksack for a day's riding; plug in the route on your device of choice; zip up your suitcase for delivery to the next overnight stop; and ride! Having ridden with Trailbrakes twice across different versions of the England C2C, I can say that their route planning and their organisation are both excellent. And if something does go wrong, they're at the end of the phone to fix it. Enjoy!
