Recently "hired" a van from these guys to move house with... well i thought I had, but the day before the move I was contacted with the news they didn't actually have a van they could hire me, despite me having booked well in advance. Not what you want to hear in one of the most stressful times you will go through. Had a similar experience with enterprise following the cancellation from thrifty, except they called me back 5 minutes after I booked to tell me there was no van. Not sure what this is all about, no doubt there is some shady practice going on in the background to maximise potential profit while not caring about their customers. Understand please that if somebody is hiring a van, it's probably for a bloody good reason that's difficult to change, so don't hire out vans you are not 100% sure you have.

I have used this car hire company several times and have always found their prices to be good (especially if paying in advance), and their service friendly and efficient. The cars they have supplied me with have been spotlessly clean and all have had very low mileage on them so it feels like you have been driving a brand new car. Several times I have received a free upgrade if the class of car I have paid for was not available.

I am sure to use them again when the need arises.

Had the pleasure of having to rent a vehicle from Thrifty. Everything about the rental was superb, starting with the very competitive price. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The car had only done 4000 miles from new, was clean and very well presented. Would I recommend, a definite YES !!!

We walked in, and the lady was terribly rude and unwilling to help us. Once she hear our American accent, she seemed to shut us off completely. She didn’t even bother to check the bookings on her computer; instead, she blatantly stated they had absolutely nothing available, which we thought was unusual considering she didn’t even care to check in the first place. We went down the street to Easirent, where we had immediately better service and assistance. I would definitely skip going to Thrifty and head straight to Easirent if you are looking for kind, helpful service. The young lady at Thrifty was a miserable old cow and I would not recommend their services in the slightest.

Excellent service, friendly guy dealt with my pre booking, brand new citroen c3 to drive for the week which was lovely, returned car, checked over by staff and deposit back in my account the next day. Very smooth service and would happily use them again.
