Five of us stayed for two nights. We were celebrating a special event. The entire stay was a delight. Our rooms were gorgeous, and very well equipped.|We dined in, on both nights. The menu is varied, and the food wonderful.|All staff from Housekeeping, to Reception were efficient and friendly. A special mention has to go to our evening waiter of both nights. So professional, yet charming and friendly. |We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and shall return.

WOW! The Swan is incredible & our wedding reception was PERFECT! All of our guests commented on how fantastic the venue is & we had lots of guests who stayed overnight & all of them loved the accommodation. From the moment we chose The Swan for our wedding we were looked after by Bethany the Events Manager who was absolutely incredible. I was stressed & nervous & Bethany made everything better. Communication was brilliant & she did everything she can to make things as seamless as possible - & they were. I had a very specific idea on how I wanted the room, decor & tables to look & it was all beautiful - I could not have wished for a better person to take care of us.
We were back n forth to the venue arranging things & all the staff are always incredibly polite & helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Freddie & Annabel also deserve a mention but everyone is great.
The food for our reception was amazing - to be able to produce meals of that quality on that scale cannot be easy but everyone loved the wedding breakfast & the evening buffet was equally delicious. Lots of vegan & vegetarian options too.
So many good things to say so I'll finish with that I could not recommend The Swan enough, venue, service, food & rooms - PERFECTION! & once again - THANK YOU BETHANY - you are AMAZING! Our day was perfect because of you! xxx

The hotel is in a beautiful building and in the centre of Lavenham. We had a drink in the garden while waiting for our room. The grounds need some attention and were not very attractively planted. Our room had everything needed for a short stay. Plenty of plugs and usb access. Wi-fi is good throughout the property. The bed was extremely comfortable and bedding was lovely. The fan was definitely needed as the room was very warm with small windows. The bath was very deep and the grab rail was too high for anyone less abled. Toiletries were fabulous with a great fragrance. Had to crouch to use the mirror over the sink (I’m 5’7”). Breakfast was not a pleasant experience. I appreciate it was very busy but our server was rude on two occasions when I asked for our tea and toast, because everyone that came in after us had been already been served. Another lovely lady finally brought it and apologised - our order had got lost. With a few tweaks I would recommend this hotel.

This was our 5th visit for afternoon tea, so we knew or thought we knew what to expect. We were wrong. Previously, we have enjoyed our visits ,hence returning several times, excellent service and delicious food. Sadly, this was not the case last Sunday. They no longer offer a savoury afternoon tea. The service initially was good but went downhill very quickly, Our beverages order was taken but did not arrive until a considerable time after the food, so we were left just sitting looking at it. When we asked what the delay was, we were told that it was because they were busy in the restaurant with lunches! Once they did arrive, my tea was in a scruffy stainless steel pot, not the lovely elegant porcelain some diners had, and we have enjoyed before.|The sandwiches would have benefited from more filling, and some had crusts cut off. Some didn't. There was no strawberry or even raspberry jam to enjoy with the scones. Sorry, apricot and blackcurrant really doesn't cut it.|Tables were left uncleared. Clearly, they were understaffed, this is a shame but should not reflect on their guests' experience. |Sadly it will be our last visit, and in no way could we recommend as we have done previously.

Lovely traditional hotel in great location. We enjoyed the facilities at the spa during our stay. Food was excellent. Service 10/10. Overall everything was just perfect. Would 100% definitely stay there again.

This is a stunning hotel in the centre of a medieval village. The public rooms are lovely. We paid extra for a larger, beamed bedroom but it was still quite small and the decor was beginning to tire.|The staff are a strength of the hotel - friendly and helpful.|The Gallery restaurant is excellent but we were disappointed to see dogs sitting on the furniture in the brasserie. I have no problem with dog friendly hotels but they shouldn’t be at the table for health and safety reasons.|The beer garden has a lovely, relaxed atmosphere.|We’ll be back!

While the Swan is a handsome property and the staff are well-meaning, we did not enjoy staying or eating at the hotel.

We stayed in a garden room with our dog on the first floor (# 24) for two nights and found the room hot and stuffy with only one small window, the decoration was a bit sterile with no art on the walls, pillows and linens were not good quality, and the shower over the bath was hard to navigate. After a day of walking around beautiful Lavenham, we were looking forward to a nice afternoon nap -- but there was live music in the bar from 3:00 to 5:30 which reverberated throughout the hotel.

The restaurants were disappointing. The servers are young and friendly but not very professional and competent. We had drinks in the garden and had to chase someone to place our drinks order -- and then they brought the wrong order. We had one dinner in the Brasserie and had to chase someone to seat us and place our dinner order. We had two breakfasts in the main dining room and there were delays and confusion about our coffee/tea order on both days. The food was fine, but the poor service made dining at the hotel not very enjoyable. Overall, the dining side seems to lack good management -- someone to oversee that the servers are working smartly, dirty tables are cleared, etc.

We like the historical architecture and appreciate that the staff were friendly -- but the overall experience, value for money, and comfort of the visit were all below the standard we have enjoyed at other Pride of Britain hotels.

It's very beautiful restaurant.The lots of world war ii, history. The united states air force spent many years here during the war.This is where they canteen, they had drinks and food and housed them in. The food we had today was most excellent. I've got a couple of photos below.And it was very pricey, but you paid for equality in this food. If you're ever in this part of town, I would suggest highly suggests that you stop here for lunch.
