This was a good base as we were waking Brecon. |We didn’t have dinner here but did have breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a lovely cooked English breakfast in the morning. The place is old and hasn’t had any investment for years as it’s up for sale. It was super cheap but beds were clean and do the job for us.

Received a lovely welcome & the staff are very helpful and approachable. The drinks and the meals are very well priced. We had our evening meals in the public bar and what we paid for two meals, we would pay for one where we are from! You get a full breakfast included in the room price. The room was spacious despite being up on the third floor of the house. It is a grade two listed building so there are some issues with the plumbing, the shower started freezing cold and only warmed up once you had been running it for a while. It would only take someone to flush their toilet & you would have scorching hot water! The pressure is rubbish too but it was the only complaint we have. We would definitely go back but we were disappointed to learn the current owners have the house for sale!

Excellent at all the basics and a great price
Stayed 2 nights for walking in Bannau Brecionog. Everyone was incredibly nice, friendly and helpful for a start.
The breakfast was really good and freshly cooked. As well as cereal, fruit, fruit juice, tea, coffee and toast, there was then also a full cooked breakfast too.
The hotel and the rooms were basic, but everything worked perfectly. The shower was hot, there was soap, fresh towels, they gave us 2 fans as it was hot.

The bed and pillow was genuinely one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in in my life, so I had a great night's sleep both nights.

Fantastically cheap prices in the bar as well - £2.85 a pint - amazing!!!

I've had the pleasure of staying in some swanky places in my life, but I would definitely stay here again if you need to be nearby and would recommend anyone to do so.

Lovely family run hotel. Room was small but clean, cosy and warm. Ideal location just off the main A465 but quiet with no road noise. Decor sadly dated and in need of modernisation - however this would result in massive costs that would make it too expensive for my price bracket, so I was more than happy with how it was. Best of all was the food: our stay included breakfast, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a full menu so we had our evening meal there too (additional cost). Prices for food and drinks were shockingly low. Pub is popular with locals who all made us feel welcome and enhanced the atmosphere in the bar. It was interesting to learn from them some history of the valley plus also where to go for nice walks / views. The hotel is sadly for sale: we only hope it has a bright future, as we'd love to stay again.

Just returned from a weekend stay where we were made most welcome. Comfortable, great food, easy to find and park and generous with their chat for walkers and visitors to the area.

We booked this place for an 80th birthday party and the service was first class from start to finish. Very accommodating and the catering was excellent. All staff members were brilliant and helpful. Would highly recommend. The birthday girl had the best time and thoroughly enjoyed herself
