We stayed (camped) here on more than one occasion, quite a few this summer. When emailing them, they always got back to you and would be very helpful. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to, especially the camping side of things.
There were four showers up to the top near the hub, these were more than adequate, and two showers in the shepherd's hut on the camping part of the site, my husbands favourite ones. There were enough toilets with four being the ladies, a baby change/toilet and the men's being near the hub with running water etc.
There were two toilets in the shepherd's hut, which are septic tank style, so you have a choice of what is best for yourself. (Me personally found them quite strong smelling even though they were clean) We never had to queue for any of these.
Whilst we were there, a few campers had got a bit loud, the staff were there to remind them of the rules, this was done politely and professionally. Which was nice to see and showed they cared about everyone on the campsite.
Being so close to the river and seeing all of the nature is so lovely, we paddled boarded everyday. We visited Bodiam Castle which was lovely for our two children, also with having extra activities to do in the summer holidays. We did the stream train which is well worth a visit too! We did have drinks from the hub which were nice and staff were friendly to.
We would definitely recommend this campsite, and have done already. With the location, the river being so close, the lovely walks and things to do. We think its a good place, especially with it being a reasonable price aswell.
100% recommend!

This was the perfect little getaway for a couple of nights. The shepherd’s hut was cosy and beautifully kept, we've never slept better. Even though it rained for much of our stay, it was a real treat to curl up inside with a book. When the skies cleared, we enjoyed a walk along the river, a visit to Bodiam Castle, and a stop at a lovely pub recommended by Anna. The food at the Hub was excellent (try the pea-mole and sourdough). Anna was such a warm and thoughtful host, and we really appreciated the care she’s taken to make the place sustainable. We can’t wait to visit again 💕

Spent two nights camping which I actually enjoyed, met family and friends and had some lovely meals prepared and loved watching all the kids running around in secure surroundings. Only downside was the cold shower a 6am (eek) which was fixed later I hear. Also tried the pizza one night which was so good the children ate mine, luckily they left two slices which were delicious.

Stayed for a long weekend for my birthday with a group of friends and had the most wonderful time. Walking along the river to the castle, pub and vineyard was fantastic. Swimming in the river was brilliant. Would 100% come back!

Genuinely wonderful location, right on the river, with access to paddleboard / swim (not sure swimming is encouraged, but we did), and very pleasent folks at the onsite activities centre. Our kids - 9-12, just wallowed in the experience. The SUP to the pub option is magic. Shop is very pricey, but the staff are lovely and the quality high. Would be good for kids a little younger (playpark) and a bit older. The only downside is the distance to a loo/washing area can be quite far depending on pitch.

We had a good overall experience at this campsite. The location was peaceful and well-maintained, making it a nice spot to relax and enjoy nature. With that said there isn’t really much to do there i think the Epic life and the campsite as a whole seemed a lot better online e.g photo and overall how they portray it on their website. I would advise bringing your own wood as they do sell bags of wood in the cafe which really would only last you a night. But we found that the wood was very out of season and not dried properly which made it difficult to have a decent fire and with it pumping out black smoke constantly. It also seemed like they found any old scraps of wood (seemed like old sign post) and shoved it in a bag to sell.Overall was a decent stay for a “eco campsite”.

Stunning location with access to the coast and both Kent and East Sussex. The fascilities where clean and well maintained with really good, hot, showers.
It was the beginning of the season so quiet on the site, and the pitch was of standard size. Staff very polite and good communication on site.

Lovely site, let down by toilet and shower facilities

We had a good stay overall — the campsite is in a beautiful location, and we really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the fire bowls for each pitch and the option to buy local wood and kindling at The Hub. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the pitch allocation process seemed well organised.

However, the communal toilet and shower block by The Hub was a real letdown. Unfortunately, it wasn’t very clean during our stay, and it felt like it needed more regular maintenance, especially considering it’s the only plumbed-in option for the whole site. With so many people sharing it, this part of the experience really brought the overall impression down.

The eco loos on each pitch are a good idea in theory, but we found them a bit basic and not the most pleasant to use for a longer stay.

It’s a great site in many ways, and with a bit more attention to the cleanliness of the shared facilities, it could be fantastic.
