My friend and I really enjoyed this Ghost Walk Tour in York hosted by Mark Graham. Mark made it fun and had great stories to tell. He has a fabulous voice and manner which lends itself to enjoyment. But even more than this, he has a depth in his character that seemed to expose his soul to us, his audience. He expressed gratitude for all present and was exceptionally kind to the younger audience having them come to the front to hear and follow the stories. My partner and I spent several days in York to celebrate her birthday. One of her requests as a activity was to go on a ghost walk. So on the 23rd of February, a wet Sunday evening, we picked this tour. Being our first ever tour we didn't know what to expect...what we got was a enjoyable walk around various York locations accompanied by Mark, our tour guide, who regaled us with various tales of York's spectral occupants interlaced with additional historical tales. While on the tour Mark also took the time to learn about our group and bring us all into his narrative.
Despite the downpour, we didn't let it dampen our spirits (pun intended) and will definitely accompany Mark, hopefully, on one his tours again in the near future!

Mark gave us an amazing private tour of York. We got great insights into York and some of the history through his ghost stories. We especially loved that Mark took time to speak to each of us, learn a little about us and make sure everyone felt included.

The whole group loved it, highly recommend going as it is great value!

As a side note, I was especially impressed at some of his historical and general knowledge, not only of York, but of the area of Australia I'm from, including discussions about the Batavia ship that sank off the coast!

Attended this tour last night, what an experience it was. The tour guide was an excellent narrator, very knowledgeable and took the effort to get to know each one of us. It was great to walk through the streets of York and understand the history behind it. Would 100% recommend signing up for this.

Absolutely brilliant evening! Was a bit unsure of how the ghost tour would play out due to it being glorious sunshine so not adding the layer of spooky, but the host made it thoroughly enjoyable and I certainly jumped! He had a ghost story for every person and was really inviting. Will be coming again!

Enjoyed this ghost walk, and our host was funny and informative about all happenings in the area. Walk was just over 90mins you start at the meeting point and finished at the minster.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, the guide was brill - funny, riveting, macabre and a great story teller. It was absolutely freezing cold but still had a great time. Learned loads about the ghosts of York and the grisly history, left with lots of leads to be exploring 😁

The best ghost tour in York! If you’re trying to decide which one to go on, this is the one 👻

At the beginning of the tour, our guide promised that they would not be condescending. This was completely true! So many ghost tours try to pander to every possible kind of audience by taking unneeded liberties, incorporating unexpected audience interaction, making light of the more gruesome subjects, etc. which does come off as condescending more often than not. The best way to actually appeal to the most people is to simply present the stories as they are, without assumption or cruelty or sensationalization. Of course a fantastic tour guide is necessary for this as well! This is the first ghost tour I’ve been on in any corner of the world that has delivered an experience like this. It felt like we were gathered around a campfire with our guide, rather than being led around by an actor (all love to actors, of course - I am one).

Truly such a special tour. You absolutely must give it a go if you’re in the area looking for something to round out your day.
