Was glad to find this welcoming place just as I finished my holiday novel. Picked up a new story set on Orkney and looking forward to seeing which places we have visited feature in it. There are a good selection of other titles too, including many classics. Through the back is a nice children's section and my son was delighted to choose a new Dog Man book and follow his next adventures. Helpful staff also provided stamps for the postcard that we bought.

I was given A BLIND DATE WITH A BOOK for Christmas. I have just read it and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it. It was probably not a book I would have picked but now I would read more by this author.

I was hoping there would be a good bookshop in Kirkwall and I was not disappointed. The shop is quite large and you can take your time to peruse the books, maps that they sell. I bought two books one to encourage me to get out walking next time I visit. The other was to do with Scapa Flow and the brave who lost their lives during the war.

Took advantage of a sale to buy a couple of items. One way system in place through the shop to exit but this is well planned and operated and actually brought a bit of structure to my usual meandering bookshop visits. Some nice art in the walls. Friendly and helpful staff.
