Was a charming pub with character and charm, now closed down by current owner. A great loss to the locals and tourists alike. Been going there for a number of years and always felt it had sufficient trade to be viable, but unfortunately pubs can be good value when bought for a private residence!
Now a very small cramped tea room to the rear, extra tables though in the old car park - if it's dry.

Lovely tea room with great coffee and homemade cakes. Indoor or outdoor seating, in a nice location. Sadly the pub itself is now closed, but lives on as this tea room that sells beer. Definitely worth a stop, great service from the ladies that run it.

Nice pub. We got there just as they opened and it was quite cold but it warmed up as more people came in. The menu is limited but the food was very good and the portions were more than adequate. Soft drinks only seemed available in cans and again was a bit limited but the bar looked fully stocked in spirits and there was locally brewed ale on tap. The staff were friendly and professional and the service was prompt. Booking would be advisable as it filled up quickly while we were there. Suitable for families, couples, friends and gatherings. Well done team Moorcock, will definitely go back.

Great pub and hotel. Rooms were spotless and super comfy. Decent bar with a good selection of real ales from local brewery. Menu was limited but good quality and big portions. Breakfast was superb. Parking was available for our motorbikes . Staff are fabulous, friendly and helpful. Definitely will be stopping again.

The B&B is gorgeous. Really authentic country pub. Bed was so comfortable and barely any noise during the night as it's not in the centre of a town. Ruth and the rest of the staff were brilliant, nothing was too much for them and they were so accomodating to my dietary needs (Gluten Free due to Coeliac) and took the time to have a chat with us both as well. Made the 3 night stay really pleasant. The food for breakfast and evening meals were delicious and so filling. Highly recommend the fishcakes and the chicken with Wensleydale.

In September this year I hurt myself whilst walking on the hills and falling over in very wet weather.
Due to my injury my husband and I, with our dog, missed our train and so we decided to pop into the Moorcock Tearoom.
We had such a warm welcome from the two wonderful women running the cafe and enjoyed an hour of chat and laughter with a glass of wine and sweet potato chips.
Thank you so much to you both at the Moorcock Tearoom, you cheered us up with your laughter and warm hospitality.

Fabulous place to stop in between Hawes and Sedbergh. Very rustic and basic but great for a coffee and cake in a top location.

A fantastic place for a beer, a meal or to stay the night. I arrived dripping wet and cold off the fells. Lovely warm welcome and toasty warm room. Stayed in a small but comfortable single room. Delicious food, homemade fishcakes. Fabulous setting in the Yorkshire Dales. Great walking all around. Highly recommended!
