Probably the best Sunday roast I've ever had - was fantastic and full of flavour. Veg and cauliflower cheese was perfect. We sat in the bar which is dog friendly. Only disappointment is that they advised us that for our booking for the next day we wouldn't be offered food as no longer serving. It was a milestone birthday lunch that I'd booked 3 months earlier. So frantically was looking for somewhere for the next day, thankfully one of the staff recommended somewhere which actually turned out to be amazing. If you're booking for something special I'd recommend you re-confirm. And definitely have the roast

Stayed here for a couple of nights, really nice rooms, shower needed a new shower head but besides from that everything was great.
Loved the breakfast, and the evening meal was really nice.
If you don't want to constantly drive, there's a train station a couple minute walk down the road.

What a little gem, stopped off while staying locally and visited St Bee Beach. Having 2 dogs, we were still made very welcome and offered us to come inside but we opted for the garden as one dog is very barky at the dinner table still. The staff and food were absolutely amazing.
Pork bites and Posh pigs for starter, Best fish and chips in a pub i have eaten for while, the batter was light and crispy with no grease and my partners pie and chips was, he said bloody perrect. Melt in the mouth steak with ale and a puff pastry top, washed down with a fosters and Inchs cider.

My son and I stayed here before we went on a foraging trip in Ennerdale. The service in the Manor was excellent from check in to check out. We checked in and were escorted to our room, where everything was clearly explained. The room was clean, comfortable and had a great selection of tea and coffee, and most importantly - a nice temperature. The food in the bar/restaurant was top notch, great sized portions and incredibly tasty the fish and chips were perfectly cooked and a generous portion (17 year old hungry teenager struggled!!) with super-crispy batter. The mushroom risotto was delicious, with a great selection of shroomage!!! Big shout ot to Ritchie the barman, who had recently started work, but was absolutely top drawer for friendliness and service. The breakfast was great, perfectly cooked and a choice of sizes - we opted for the Walkers breakfas t (1 of everything) instead of the Fellmans (2 of everything), and it was just the right size. The coffee was fresh and there was a nice selection of pastries etc with a lovely, friendly breakfast waitress. Would happily stay here again.

Beer is excellent !! Sunday lunch was awesome !! Loads of vedge and meat and Yorkshire puddings were massive !! service friendly and attentive - needed 15 minutes rest before puddings as that stuffed 😂 !! Great value for money and pub was good crack with locals which is true sign of a good pub !!

Welcoming and cozy, staff friendly and helpful. Food was probably best I've tasted in long while. Beef brisket was flavoursome and just melted in mouth. Local cumberland sausage was just delicious. Lovely root veg and mash, last but not least the gravy- champion

Had a couple of meals here.
Lovely staff absolutely accommodating friendly and polite.
Fantastic service and very good value for money.
I would highly recommend this place to all that visit this area.
