An absolutely fantastic distillery tour! The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I seriously recommend this experience. Our guide was clearly passionate about their product, and we learned so much about how they make their whisky — all done the old-fashioned way, which was fascinating to see. On top of that, there’s a lovely perfume store and a crystal shop on site, which made the visit even more

Great tour and experience. Took the bus to the road to the distillery and walked up a fresh green forest road for 0.5km to reach this relaxing location that enhanced the experience. Getting the opportunity to see, smell, and be educated about the process has given me so much appreciation of the process and what draws people to whiskey. John our guide was passionate and knowledgeable about everything and made this a very personalized experience.

Beautiful setting with characterful whisky, but a mixed experience overall.

The distillery is tucked into beautiful woodland by a river, with classic whitewashed architecture that gives it real charm. Parking was convenient off-season, with EV charging spots on site, though we couldn’t get them working.

The tour itself was very enjoyable. The site has real heritage and uniqueness, and our guide John made it a standout experience: knowledgeable, welcoming, friendly, and passionate.

We tasted several whiskies, and the Triple Wood and 14 Year Old Peat Smoked were personal highlights, balanced, rich, and elegant drams.

Unfortunately, the customer service in the shop and bar didn’t match the rest. The staff we encountered seemed uninterested and transactional, which was disappointing. A simple request for a driver bottle to take away a paid tasting dram (as I was driving) felt like an inconvenience. The dram was eventually poured into the bottle without a funnel, spilling some in the process, and not a word of apology or any gesture of goodwill, even though we were the last customers there.

Being charged ÂŁ16 for a standard 25ml dram, of the regular 14 Year Old Peated, just before purchasing the ÂŁ150 bottle, also felt excessive and off-putting. Many distilleries would show a more welcoming and commercial approach in that situation, encouraging return visits and loyalty.

In short: absolutely worth visiting for the setting, the whisky, and the guided tour with John, but the customer service outside of that experience needs improvement to match the expected Lalique experience.

Visiting the Glenturret Distillery was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Scotland. We did the Whisky Maker’s experience tour with John (and one of the cats, Turret) and had the best time with him! We learned so much about whisky, the history of the distillery, and left with unique souvenirs. We could not rave about John and his hospitality enough. He really made this tour and our trip extremely special. Karen in the gift shop was lovely as well. The next time we’re in Scotland, we will certainly be back to visit this distillery and the restaurant!

Fantastic whisky tour had an amazing time. Wonderful location and our tour guide Don was very knowledgeable and friendly and made the whole experience even better. Despite not being a whisky drinker enjoyed the whole experience including the tasting.

My wife and I went on the distillery tour hosted by John. Was a fantastic experience. John was really knowledgeable and so personable. It felt like he was giving us a tour of his home. Well worth a visit. The whiskey was also fantastic and we didn't escape the gift shop without some souvenirs. I didn't realize that the distillery was so interwoven with Lalique (who are 50% owners of Glenturret) I think they show reward John with a lalique cain.

We also had lunch in the restaurant which was amazing and a great way to experience all the glass wear before walking through that gift shop too

For Valentine's Day, I surprised my husband with the Whisky Maker’s Experience at The Glenturret Distillery, and let me tell you—this was hands down one of the most incredible experiences we've ever had. We planned an entire day of travel through the Highlands, soaking in the breathtaking scenery, with Glenturret as our perfect midway stop.

Now, I was new to whisky—didn’t know my tasting notes, had never truly experienced it the way it should be enjoyed. But that all changed thanks to Don, our whisky guru for the day. This man was absolutely phenomenal! He didn’t just tell us about whisky; he taught us how to experience it. The science, the patience, the artistry—it’s unreal how much care goes into every bottle.

And the best part? We crafted our own bottles of whisky, blended to our exact taste. No one else in the world will have these bottles—just us. A completely unique, one-of-a-kind creation that we’ll cherish forever.

We also couldn’t leave without snagging a bottle of their 10-year-old peat-smoked whisky, especially since they’re moving away from peat-smoked expressions. This is truly a special bottle that won’t be around forever, and I’m so glad we got our hands on one.

The Glenturret is a boutique distillery, and you won’t find their whisky anywhere else—you have to go there to experience it. And trust me, it’s 1000% worth it. Whether you're a whisky lover or a total newbie (like I was), this experience will change the way you think about whisky forever.

Thank you, Don, and thank you to everyone at The Glenturret for making our Valentine’s Day unforgettable. We’ll be back!
