I was splurging on something special for myself and was so excited to stay at this hotel. My excitement didn't last long.||Check-in took quite a while, not because there was anyone in front of me, but because there were issues with my reservation. When I arrived, I was told I had two reservations, and even though I had canceled one and had proof of my cancelation request from over a month before, the manager acted as though they were doing me a favor to cancel the second reservation without charge. Then I was told that even though my reservation was supposed to be pre-paid, they had never charged me. I then had to spend time contacting my credit card company to see if I had been charged. It turned out I had not due to some computer error with the hotel. When I mentioned that the exchange rate had changed significantly since I was supposed to be charged, no one seemed to care. ||When I finally got to my room, I realized they had put me right next to the elevator, when I looked out the window, I was greeted with a view of some rusting receptacle on a roof (the view out the other window was ok), the bathroom vanity had peeling paint, the bathtub had debris in it, and there was an area in the room where my foot stuck to the carpet because they had used adhesive to repair a section of the carpet. I really hope it was the worst room in the category (which wasn't the lowest), because I can't imagine paying that price for a room that's even more worn!||The next morning when I went to order room service for breakfast. (which for me is one of the major perks of a nice hotel), I discovered that while they do offer room service, they don't offer room service for breakfast. Moreover, while a courtyard is mentioned in more than one place on their website, when I asked the front desk where I could sit outside to read, I was told there was nowhere in the hotel to do that.||The spa was beautiful, and I'm sure it would be an enjoyable and relaxing experience when it isn't overcrowand and rather loud. I can also say the people in spa reception were really lovely, and the bed in the room was quite comfortable with very nice linens. I also appreciated the complimentary water and beverages in the mini fridge, although I do wish they had been replenished at least once over my multi-night stay.

This was a long-awaited family trip, delayed by the pandemic. The accommodations were lovely, and the room layout suited our family of five well. Concierge recommendations for dining options were excellent.|The Spa was beautiful and restorative. |We appreciated the thoughtful gifts left in our room to help us celebrate our anniversary and our children's recent graduations.|The Spa is centrally located, so navigating all the sights in Bath was a breeze.

I booked the Gainsborough Spa Suite for our 3rd Wedding Anniversary. The room was fantastic and the facilities of the Spa were perfect! All the staff we interacted with were really kind and helpful. Especially to the mixologist Chris at the bar. He was so passionate about his job and made our evening!||We had complimentary cheese box and wine with our room which were excellent if you liked those things, we however didnāt so these would be gifted to family. A breakfast would have better alternative, which Iām amazed wasnāt included with booking their most expensive suite.||Unless I missed it during the booking, I only discovered during check in we had complimentary unlimited access to the Spa outside of the normal 2 scheduled slots to the rest of hotel guests. This was the highlight of the trip! I would have arrived earlier had I known! Although I may have spent the entire trip in there haha.||The downsides, which they are minor however when paying Ā£600 for a room for the night, they were worth mentioning.||The ambient sounds from outside were really disruptive for the early morning. I was awoken at 6:30am by the sound of a lorry idling outside the hotel, Iām guessing it was a delivery. I appreciate the historical architecture of the building however be mindful you will hear every and all sounds outside the hotel from the room. Including the slamming of the fire doors in the suites from downstairs. ||Also be cautious of the hidden services fees. I did not realise that each time you used the bars, the drinks prices are not inclusive of service fees which will be added to your checkout bill. Furthermore, 6 drinks in total 2 of which were soft drinks came to a total of Ā£115 with fees. ||I would book again, perhaps not the most expensive suite but for the spa facilities as they were exceptional!||Thank you for making our anniversary special.

Just got back from a spa package which included breakfast a cream tea and either a facial or massage in the spa and. Use of facilities . It was fabulous from start to finish . The spa area is calm , quiet and relaxing . Zach and Hannah the therapist are amazing . I had zach for a massage . He is polite , friendly and a true professional who loves his craft . My daughter had Hannah again she came out with only great comments and feeling relaxed . We would defiantly ask for them again . The bedroom was clean and very comfortable . Large bath shower with Elemis products . Breakfast was great this is included . |Only one negative we would have liked to use the spa facilities the next day as residents of the hotel however you would need to pay Ā£ 70 each . You can use it from 8 to 10 but thatās over the breakfast period . Ā£70 is steep and a little annoying seeing as youāve spent quite a decent amount of money . Maybe a little less and we might have . done it . Thatās the only negative and itās not like the spa area is busy it wasnāt which again we enjoyed

We enjoyed our two-night stay at The Gainsborough in Bath. The hotel is centrally located. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Solange (hope I am spelling her name correctly) was amazing and should be commended for her personal service and attention to detail. She walked us up to our room and gave us lots of information about the surrounding area. The room was comfortable. We were on the top floor. The beds were a bit mushy but did not deter a good night's sleep. We had some issues with the drain in the shower and sink but that was fixed immediately. The best part of this hotel is the spa. It is amazing!!! This was worth the entire stay here. We had unlimited access to the spa due to our booking through American Express Fine Hotels. There appeared to be some restrictions on the use of the spa to hotel guests if you did not book a spa treatment and if you did not book through a special offering. The thermal baths and the saunas and the ice room are incredible as was the massage I had. The thermal baths were a welcome reprieve from long days or walking and sightseeing. We went to the spa between 5 and 6:30 PM each evening of our stay and we were the only ones using the spa. It was amazing! The spa area is quite crowded earlier in the day. The only strange part of this hotel is that we had to make a reservation for breakfast and then when we got to breakfast it was mostly empty. I understand that the reservation ensures being seated at a specific time but it is hard when you are on vacation to be stuck to a certain time for breakfast. Nevertheless, it worked out fine for us. The breakfast was quite delicious with a nice buffet with the option to order eggs. The food was very good and plentiful. |When in Bath, I highly recommend this hotel along with their wonderful spa!!

After reading the good reviews online we decided to book a night at The Gainsborough Bath Spa Hotel for a mini break in Bath and it didnāt disappoint! Excellently located in central Bath, Roman Baths and Bath Abbey less than 5 mins walking.||We booked the Deluxe Twin room. Our room was located on the middle floor overlooking an internal courtyard and was quiet and clean with very comfy beds. The air con was perfect and much welcomed! Our bathroom had a powerful shower over bath which was great. Also in room safe, tea and coffee making facilities and mini fridge with complimentary water and soft drinks. Recommend to book direct and receive a complimentary bottle of wine! I had mentioned, when booking, that it was my sisterās birthday and they kindly gave her a lovely birthday sweet treat which was really nice.||Free access to the thermal hotel spa 8am-10am and 7pm-9pm for hotel guests. We arrived at 7pm and stayed for about an hour and were pleasantly pleased that it never got too busy. Impressive hotel spa complex with 1 main and 2 smaller spa pools and saunas and steam room.||We booked bed and breakfast and reserved our breakfast time in advance. Good choice of continental and a variety of cook to order breakfast options.||We pre-booked the hotel car park (Ā£40 per night to use offsite private car park with CCTV located 2 minuteās walk from hotel).||We would thoroughly recommend The Gainsborough Bath Spa Hotel and we would definitely return when next in Bath!

We had a lovely stay at the Gainsborough Bath Spa. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The staff was courteous and helpful. The spa and common areas were stylish and well-maintained. The location is central, convenient to shops and restaurants in a charming quarter. We would happily stay here again and recommend The Gainsborough Bath Spa to other travelers.

One of the best hotels Iāve been to in the U.K. I was very surprised by the quality of the building, the excellent service and the wonderful spa. When we arrived they had left a cheese and wine hamper in the room as a welcome gift, plus a box of nice toiletries. The turn down service was also a lovely suprise. I will definitely stay here again.
