Outstanding public house near Ilminster. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and are polite and welcoming. The food is always good and very good value and they have a great selection of beer and ciders together with a great selection of good quality wines. They have a lovely beer garden at the rear of the property totally enclosed all the rooms are spacious very clean and of the highest quality. I would highly recommend this pub to anybody travelling to the West Country.

Starting with the welcoming communications before we arrived right through to leaving, this was a very enjoyable experience. |Sarah and Paul are very friendly and attentive hosts. We arrived early and had a drink in the very well appointed bar before we were shown our room. |The room was well appointed with a floor standing fan (weather was very warm), a coffee pod machine, cube for charging gadgets and a selection of toiletries. The bed was super comfortable and we had a very good nights sleep. |Shower was excellent with plenty of hot water and the room, as did the rest of the premises, was in immaculate condition. |Breakfast was preordered the night before, and was very good with plenty of choice. We both opted for the full English and a special mention for the bacon and sausage which I thought was excellent although my wife felt the bacon was a bit salty. That says more about our taste! |My wife elected to have tea and, unlike so many places, was a good, strong brew. |While we didn’t use the restaurant in the evening, it was clearly popular and friends in the area who have visited said it was very good. |The Inn is on a busy road junction but there was nothing that disturbed our sleep and there was plenty of off road parking. |Would we stay at the Five Dials Inn again? Absolutely. Recommended 😊

We stayed at the Five Dials at the weekend for a nearby family wedding. Sarah and her team are amazing!
Check in was easy, food delicious, the staff very attentive, welcoming and accommodating and rooms spacious and clean.
I even stupidly left some of my belongings in the room and they are already on their way to me having been posted this morning - what service!
The only thing I would say that needs improvement is that it was very warm and they didn’t have any fans available for us. Nothing major, would have just been even more comfortable if we had a fan in our room.
Overall a lovely few days in a fab little village pub.

We come here every year on our way to Cornwall and it never disappoints. It is a lovely, busy pub serving excellent food - dinner and breakfast are delicious. Rooms have everything you need - including a coffee machine.

We were recommended to check out The Five Dials while staying nearby and were really glad we did. It was great to see a proper local pub full on a Friday evening, with a good mix of people eating and just having a drink – it gave the place a brilliant atmosphere. We were a family of three (plus our dog) and felt genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. The food was excellent, the service friendly, and the prices were reasonable. We’d definitely go back when we are next in the area!

I would give 6 stars if I could. A true family run hotel and pub with lots of love, warm welcome and top customer service. The pub has lots of community spirit, guests are welcome by patrons and regulars. Great idea to sell fresh local farm produce like eggs or oats. Well done guys!
