Fabulous location right on the edge of Ilkley moor.
Straight out of the hotel to an amazing array of walks.
It’s a 20minute walk from the town centre.
Uphill and it’s a proper lung buster!
We didn’t take advantage of the breakfast as we always ate too late the night before!
Rooms, we paid for an upgrade and weren’t disappointed. Lovely bathroom, huge bath and pleased to see shampoo and shower gel dispensers instead of small single use plastics, enormous bedroom, strange little anteroom with (I assume) bed settees.
Two suggestions - both about the room:
Would have liked a choice of cooler bedding - hottest year on record and a heavy quilt.
Milk in the room. The hotel is trying to reduce their carbon footprint, so, disappointing to still see the small milk pots.
Maybe time to introduce a travel fridge for small pint of milk.
Delighted with our stay and definitely will return.

This is a traditional three star hotel within the Best Western franchise. It is located within walking distance of Ilkley Town centre, although the walk back is all uphill. It has plenty of free parking, is a little tired in places, but the staff are friendly and do their best. The breakfast buffet was just about warm, but the coffee machine was hit and miss. Dinner was much better and the bar service was fine.

The room was clean and at a reasonable room only price but there were two problems with the services. The most important issue was that the hot water supply became tepid in the morning giving a rather cool shower and too cold for a bath. When we mentioned this at checkout it seems that although the hotel has regular coach tour business the water system cannot cope with the demand from 40-50 people showering in a short period, so be warned. Secondly the modern in room TV is all set up to receive screencast of personal streaming services from your phone when the phone is networked through the TV hotspot function. Sadly the TV hotspot is only erratically connected to the Internet making this great idea mostly unusable.

The treatment I received on booking a room here so that we could attend a Bistrot Pierre French night and wine pairing was nothing but excellent from start to finish. I received an email a couple of days previously advising that there was going to be an “event” taking place at the hotel which was helpful to know. I requested a quiet room with a view if possible and the room we received on the first floor was superb. The event turned out to be a wedding which didn’t disturb us in the least - well apart from the late night fireworks when we’d gone to sleep but they were soon over and done with. The receptionist couldn’t have been more helpful or pleasant. We would have no hesitation in recommending to others and for us to book again. What a welcome treat it was to stay here!

Before coming I had read some review that weren't the best so wasn't expecting much however I can honestly say it is a stunning place. No it isn't the most modern in regards to the bathroom and bedroom furniture but it is in keeping with the building. The reception area and bar and restaurant are lovely, with free water available when you arrive. The room is clean and huge with a safe, ironing board, hairdryer, kettle and basic toiletries. There was also a fan in the room which helped as it was a very warm day. Bed feels comfy and pillows just right. |Parts of the floor in the room are creaky but its an old building. |I am currently sat on the terrace having a drink (slightly expensive, but it is a hotel) with views of the hills in front of me. I would definately stay here again and would recommend it to others. The town of Ilkley is a short walk down the hill but ubers are available.

We travelled to The Craiglands for the night to celebrate our 35th anniversary. When we arrived we were met with a smile and a Happy anniversary from the receptionist. We checked in and went up to our room on the 2nd floor and were very happy to see that it was at the front of this stunning building with lovely far reaching views. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. The whole room was very clean and tidy and the bathroom was large and also very tidy. |Another lovely touch was the bottle on ice with a note wishing us a happy anniversary. |What a lovely place and so close to the town centre and the iconic cow and calf rocks. |Thank you for giving us a special day Craiglands we will definitely return.

Our standard room was a quite dark being on the first floor at the back of the hotel. It was a little tired but the bathroom had been refurbished fairly recently. The breakfast was very good. The location is great for walking into Ilkley however for those less able you have to walk back up a hill to return to the hotel unless you get a taxi which is only about £5.

We were very pleased with our room. The sheets were crisp and of a good quality. The room (124) has been refurbished. We asked for a quiet room and that's what we got. Except on the Saturday afternoon, when the wind was blowing and an iron gate just below our room was clanging in the wind. The shower room was functional, very small with a low sink, but the towels were of a very good standard. Corridors creaked a bit, but it's a very old building with much charm. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk down a gentle hill into Ilkley. The hotel's car park is large. Would I return? Certainly.
