I'm 56 and this was the best trip of my life. I walked the Coast to Coast alone, and reveled in the hours of quiet, being alone with my thoughts and taking in the breathtaking landscape, ever-changing along the route. There was always something new to greet me around every corner. I walked during the first half of September (14-day itinerary) and was fortunate to have fantastic weather. I really enjoyed some of the alternate high routes, which should not be missed.

The service from Packhorse was hands down outstanding. The GPS maps were excellent, their advice and guidance before the trip was spot on, the lodging wonderful, and the luggage transfer was seamless. The staff at Packhorse were all such lovely people. Many thanks. Now I'm hooked on long distance walking trips and looking to plan my next one!

For our joint 60th birthday challenge we had an amazing two weeks running from St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay with the help of Coast to Coast Packhorse. Being relatively new to trail running and never having run two days in a row, we decided to take it steady and do it over 14 days, averaging a half marathon a day. Mark from C2C Packhorse is a trail runner himself, and spent time on the phone advising us on training and necessary trail equipment. We absolutely loved the experience and found that, most days, we ran all morning, arriving at our destination in time for lunch and a beer at the local pub. This then gave us time to look around the local area, swim in Grasmere Lake or paddle in the River Swale. We were blessed with amazing weather and the views were spectacular! The accommodation, arranged by C2C Packhorse, was excellent and they transported our bags so we only ran with the bare minimum on our backs. We could not have done it without them!

At late notice, I used Packhorse to arrange accommodation, including a few complications such as breaking the trip half-way. All booked quickly, efficiently and at good value; Hayley made sure it was all understood and workable. Accommodation was perfect, well located and suitable standards, at a minimum clean, warm and comfortable. Bag transport and special arrangements perfect, with Chris making the extra effort so we didn't have to rush. Top service on a world class walking route. Paper and electronic route information, made it all relaxed and idiot proof.

Excellent travel agent, but you have to call them to use a credit card. I'd prefer using a secured online portal. But they did a great job of managing all the logistics.

I have just finished solo walking the Coast to Coast. I stayed in a variety of accommodations from Airbnb, BnB, pubs, hotel and farm stays. I used Packhorse to transfer my luggage. They were excellent!!! From initial contact to organizing my pick up and drop offs to the courtesy and friendliness of the drivers they were top notch!
They also stored 2 suitcases for me and delivered to Robin Hoods Bay at the end of my walk.

Used these folks for a 2nd time (this time we only walked to Richmond) and again no surprises, all good. On day 1 we stayed on the mini bus just beyond St Bees and we noted at the bag pickups how carefully the driver checked the bags against the schedule he had etc so as to be no errors. Many thanks
