Nice cafe and gift shop with a second hand book shelf for a £1 .
The museum would be great for kids it's very hands on and basic ideal for the gongoozler as a boater I was hoping for more history especially the section of the tunnel they had to rebuild back in the 80s as coming through the tunnel on our boat it was fascinating.
Nice area to walk and there are day trip boats to ride and a lovely woodland walk which leads up over the top of the tunnel.

Great place for a canal side day out.
Small museum but very informative. Super cafe on ground floor. I had a ham and cheese sub with salad. Very nice. Pot of tea and a nice view of the canal.

On this occasion we only visited the café not the museum. We had a snack lunch while sitting and overlooking the canal. Very enjoyable. However I have previously visited the museum which, although small, is very informative.

Lovely trip along the canal and back. Only 25 minutes but enjoyable. Followed by a good 6 and a half mile circular walk. Visited the museum. Very nice day out

Not a lot to see in the museum itself.

We however got to see boats moving through the locks which was very interesting.
There was also information about how the locks operate.

Cafes and a restaurant are nearby.

Had a lovely morning down at the canal, very friendly and even let my daughter have a look around their narrow boat. Lovely and clean. Free parking. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Very old world and relaxing.
Pond dipping was disappointing - nothing in the ponds but blanket weed. 😕 Museum was closed due to covid and the Charlie canal ride suspended - hence the 4 star. Will definitely visit again.
