Loved our 1 night stay and meal at The Bower House. Incredible value for money and perfectly located.

The room (Pink Room) was beautiful - so nicely decorated and huge. The bathroom is amazing and enormous.

Service was excellent for the hotel and restaurant.

The food was tasty and well cooked. Some portions were on the small side but prices were fair.

Highly recommend as a base for this beautiful area

While on a weekend away in the Cotswolds we enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the Bower House in Shipston-on-Stour and would certainly target to return whenever back in the area. We were impressed by the attention to detail in the room furnishing & features and by the overall customer interactions by the Bower House team. Clearly the staff are very well trained and appear to have experience in high-end hospitality and it showed. ||The highlights of the property for us: |- Fantastic room size (room 5) and comfortable bed.|- Quality towels and linens|- Attention to detail of tasteful room furnishings|- Coffee pods, tea selection and teapot, fresh milk included in the in-room refrigerator|- Large bathroom, roomy walk-in shower booth with excellent rain shower. Great big bathtub, quality toiletries|- Excellent adjoining restaurant. Dined on both nights of our stay, the 2nd of which we enjoyed the delicious tasting menu with expertly paired wines.|- Friendly property staff ||Will definitely consider the Bower House for a stay in the area and recommend to others.

Champagne taster evening, so the bar was high. Food was very good (yet again) and the champagne styles varied but excellent. Interesting champagne presentations. Love the poetry in the toilets! Staff not quite the usual high standard that night sadly. An excellent atmosphere and a fun night.

Disappointed by the very expensive food. We both ordered the duck and it was quite nice, but inconsistently cooked, and one was bleeding. The couscous was weird and boring. I then ordered a poached pear for dessert which was tiny and rock solid … poached is of course supposed to be soft. The other elements on the dish were nice though. Service was pretty good. We were very insulted by the service charge which my boyfriend was too nice to challenge. It backs people into a corner doing that, and I found it quite galling considering the food wasn’t worth the money at all.

Superb - Accommodation is excellent in design and delivery with stunning bathroom spaces (we had Pink room) - Well priced for the quality where others have become excessive - especially important for us was the ability to book one night on Saturday - understandably many do not offer single nights at weekends but we hunt out the ones who do! Front of house and restaurant team were all crisp and the service perfect. The team was visibly coherent and able to deliver with a full restaurant. The food was all excellent & again the pricing has been set absolutely correctly - we didn't take the set menu this time but the value looked spot on with the flight of wine also tempting!

This was the second time we have stayed at the Bower House and again we were not disappointed. Its rare to find such a combination of luxurious bedrooms and a restaurant which is first rate. The whole Team made us feel extremely welcome and we very much look forward to returning again. Food is Michelin star quality but without the fuss or the price. Truly remarkable.

Didn't stay there, but did have an amazing meal! So tasty! The trout, hen-of-wood mushrooms main, and souffle were DIVINE!

Portion sizes ideal and service delightful: attentive and kind. Excellent wine/s too.

Highly recommend this venue for folks who like local cuisine with a fine, gastronomic, creative twist.

Superb food served by engaging staff in a beautiful building. Stayed overnight in a sumptuous room with a luxurious bathroom full of lovely shower and bath products. A real pre Christmas treat!
