very nice pub with a function room that is seperate to the bar for parties and other events. very spacious and comfortable. food excellent. need to walk to bar for drinks but that's OK. plenty of parking outside and in a nice location. can have a country walk

Decent pub grub. The staff are nice, the food comes quick and it has a traditional atmosphere without the smell of cigarettes or the sticky tables.

The menu is a little limited, although there are some specials. I had the vegan chilli and was pleasantly surprised, I would have it again. Grandad went for the pie as usual, the curry was decent and the lasagna went down a storm.

Right on the canal, great at the end (or beginning!) of a walk, and there is a car park around the back too.

We decided to try Blue lias on recommendation and having previously visited many years ago, we were not able to have food as we arrived at 3.30pm after they stopped serving food on a Sunday, we did however have a drink and crisps. Nice spot to sit by canal. And watching the narrow boats in ideal weather 😍 we will not be deterred and go mid week. Would be helpful to have closing/opening times on Google or website 🤔

Great place to sit by the canal on a sunny day! The staff are super friendly and helpfull as well. One thing could have been better which is the variety on the menu, but understandably that is probably limited to provide quality of the food served and the ammount of people that can be seated at any one time! The stake and ale pie we had was superb! Will definatelly return again!

But this restaurant is so perfect for me
The food was good, i ordered roast beef with veg and potatoes on the side
The taste was so good, but they need to be generous in the beef portion
The view is on the river directly
Prices were very acceptable

Parked at the blue Lias pub in the morning and did a 5 mile circular walk which got us back to the pub in time for a light lunch and drinks. It was just like walking into Santa's Grotto. What a fantastic display of Christmas decorations. It certainly brightened up a grey November day! Well done with making such a great effort and I'm sure families with children will absolutely love it!

Our 1st visit ( recommended), the pub is in a secluded spot next to the canal. It has a caravan park and 2 fishing lakes, and a pub garden. The food on offer was excellent, and there is a Specials board for extra choice, they also serve the best chips( small fries) that I have had at any pub. The interior is very nicely fitted out, with separate booths, and you can have food in the garden if you prefer.

Amazing home cooked food at great affordable prices.
Very picturesque next to the canal with lots of flower beds and other features.
Plenty of seating with warm and welcoming staff and locals.
