👍 Reviews of Tern Polar

Tern Polar - Chipping Norton

5/5

The team who founded the eco sensitive company Ternpolar organised my travel to Antarctica (in the 24 hour daylight of the summer) and to the Arctic-(Svalbard- in 24hour darkness in the winter)
Both experiences transformed the way I understood the world and my place in it. I went on a small expedition ship to Antarctica. We landed every day and took the Zodiacs out in the evenings to see more of the coast, the pack ice and the magnificent icebergs. The sea life was amazing and just to share in the world of seabirds and penguins and mammals and to have outstanding guides and resources was such a privilege. In Svalbard (via Tromso to see the Northern lights) my experience of the Arctic winter was such a contrast. I explored on snowshoes, went on a guided walk that ended beneath a glacier (a winter only opportunity!). There were snowmobile days and evenings in the old trappers’ huts. The effects on my body clock were powerful and gave me a new understanding of our dependence on the sun.
I will end as I’m sure the best thing is for you to have your own experience but I can absolutely recommend TernPolar who have so much knowledge and experience of many polar regions. They will tailor make your journey after discussing your main interests with you. Everything worked like a dream- all I had to do was get to the airport on the first day.
