Incredible day with Charles. He is knowledgeable, informative and engaging. After our day touring together, we really felt we experienced the Highlands. Saw so many beautiful things, learnt about the history of the people and their land. Went to off the beaten track places for that perfect view. Saw places movies were filmed and went to incredible churches and castles. And of course got up close to the hairy coos.
It was a perfect day! Highly recommend.

We had an incredible bespoke tour with Tartan Tours of Oban. Our guide, Campbell, was the perfect mix of knowledgeable, engaging, friendly, and fun. My husband and I wanted to see two very specific things when we visited Oban: Kilmartin Glen, and highland cows. There weren't any group tours to do those things, and we weren't sure about trying to go by bus, so we contacted Tartan Tours Oban to see if they had a tour that might be close enough. As it turns out, they do bespoke tours! They set us up with Campbell and he took us exactly where we wanted to go. He's super friendly, and knowledgeable of the history of the area as well as the current goings on. I'm usually pretty shy, but Campbell was a joy to spend time with. I would absolutely recommend that anyone visiting give Tartan Tours Oban a try!

We had an incredible two days of tours with our guide, Campbell! We initially booked a 4 hour morning tour to explore the castles and highlands near Oban and we enjoyed it so much we scheduled a second tour the next day to travel up to Glencoe to see more! Campbell is a wonderful and very knowledgeable guide local to the area who knew everything you could possibly want to learn about the area and the vast history. We truly enjoyed our time with him. To top it off, the seafood lunch at MacGillivray's Seafood after our first tour was the best fish and chips we had on our trip. Highly recommend booking with Tartan Tours to enjoy experiences that wouldn’t be the same without a guide!

I did this tour solo and booked it very last minute, but Charlie went out of his way to accommodate me. He was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing a wealth of information about the town’s history, its role in various wars, recent local events, Jacobite connections, and so much more. Much of the views along the way were absolutely breathtaking.

As someone who's moved to Scotland and already seen my fair share of Highland coos, Charlie offered a great alternative for this part of the tour—visiting the fascinating Bonawe Historic Iron Furnace. I had the entire place to myself, and it was genuinely fantastic. It feels like a true hidden gem, with no other visitors (while I was there), and made the experience even more special.

I highly recommend jumping into this tour. The seafood at the end was a real treat—I had the scallops in a garlic cheesy sauce, and they were so delicious. Plus, the view from the pier is stunning.

Overall, it was a brilliant experience, and for the price (especially for a private tour), it’s absolutely worth it. Just come prepared—Charlie packs in a lot of history and information. It’s such a beautiful and story-rich part of Scotland, and this tour really brings it to life.

Chris our driver was an amazing tour guide, regaling local myths and legends as well as relevant historical information. He was very friendly and we could ask questions throughout! The seafood experience with Gordon was also amazing. So tasty.
