DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!
We booked a package holiday to Australia on the 1st March 2020, for a month. Everything was fine and our booked process was ok, apart from not receiving our flight documents until we asked 10 days before. When the coronavirus pandemic took off towards the end of March, we contacted TM and were told to stay put, as we had flights booked home on the 25th. We woke up the morning of the 23rd March and our flight had disappeared from the Emirates app. We could not get through to TM as it was 1am, and Emirates lines were ringing off the hook. We all rushed to the airport and were told by the Emirates desk, that Brisbane airport was closing that night, there was one flight taking off and we needed to have an onwards flights from Dubai to the UK within 24 hrs to get on it. Justin at the Emirates desk was a star, and managed to get us on the flight, but there was no seats available on the Dubai-UK flight. We were told if we didn’t get on that plane, we would be stuck until July. I rang my mum and woke her up at 5am to beg for money to get home. After hours of trying and failing, we managed to book Business Class BA flights to Edinburgh at a cost of £4500! It was the only flight available on any airline as the UAE had closed its boarders. When we were just about to get on the flight Brisbane-Dubai, we received a call of TM, 10 HOURS after our first call. They were adamant that the flight on the 25th was leaving and even told us to stay put!!! They didn’t believe us when we told them what we had been through, and the woman on the phone, could not wait to get off the line. She didn’t care about us, and not once asked how we were feeling. When we arrived in the UK, and after driving home from Edinburgh to SW, we called TM and were told they would look into it. We couldn’t contact Emirates as we had booked with a travel agent, and our insurance wouldn’t pay out until we had reclaimed costs from our travel agent. We were fobbed off for MONTHS. No one tried to sort it. No one cared. The whole time they have been posting on social media about how they are there for their customers, which is a lie. They want your money, end of. We received a letter THIS MORNING, from MainStreet (the actual company behind TM) and were told as we didn’t get on the rescheduled flight (which we were NOT offered) we weren’t entitled to a SINGLE PENNY from them. Please. Please. Please. Do not book with this company. All the reviews are brilliant, and we thought our package was good too, until everything went wrong. They would rather be chasing the next pound. I am actively encouraging people to not book with this company, and my parents have already cancelled their holiday because of my experience. We are now considering legal action against them, as they have downright lied to us on multiple occasions.
