The port was quick to get the ship tied off. Having 2 gangways made getting on and off easy. The shuttle busses into the town center ran quite often. There is a trail from the port that takes about an hour to walk to Lees castle that puts you in town. All the staff was very friendly. There was a pipe band to greet our ship.

Deep water port is 10min out of town. It was opened in 2024 and the port authority supplies shuttles to town from most cruise ships. Town centre is original and has not changed in decades, has heaps of charm.

This is currently under development being recently made from reclaimed land using adjacent quarry. Part surface is tarmac moss gravel for now with loads of rubber mats covering rout to free shuttle bus ( very comfortable double deckers. Suitable for mobility scooters and wheelchairs. The location of shuttle bus pickup could be made closer to ship! There is 2 containers with seating alongside a glass cabin with ramp for easy access. Free toilets are available for emergency - not suitable for wheelchairs as has steps to access. No free wi-Fi as yet. Buses do have usb charging ports but no WiFi- mobile reception is poor. Will need booster in due course. Due to occasional high winds in this deep water port- some cruise ships have to turn away.

A new deep water pier for cruise ships in Stornoway. Busses to the Centrum are readily available at the end of the pier. We hope to cruise again to Stornoway.

Docking place for cruise ships. Walk from here to the city centre is 1 to 1,5 hrs. Very nice walk. At point “4” of the tourist map you can go right in stead of continue to point 5. Going to the right is more beautiful, just follow the small river and shore.

A new deep water berth for the cruise ships. A free shuttle service into the town. The gang plank off the ship is uneven and tricky if less mobile. A 50 minute walk along the newly constructed path into the town. The free leaflet is very accurate. The walk is initially very steep but soon settles into a pleasant walk, through the grounds of Lewes Castle. Will be very colourful in the autumn.

Stornoway Port/Deep water terminal is a newly built cruise pier. It's located in a remote area 10-15mins away from main city. The Lewis castle is located just one mile away from the pier and there's a dedicated walking track through the hillocks. Free shuttle bus service is available from the pier to the town.
