Just spent a fabulous week at Gillham Vineyard Hotel with StockenBridge Breaks. Great to get some real sun before the autumn sets in. Hotel excellent, brilliant interesting food, beautiful setting. Zeb and Claudia attentive and very friendly hosts - Claudia makes sure that everything about your stay is lovely, and Zeb is a brilliant and entertaining teacher. Went on a couple of really interesting day trips - great guide - gave us a good insight into the island and its turbulent history. StockenBridge Breaks have a great formula - good food, good wine, comfortable hotels, attentive and friendly attitude with interesting inclusive bridge. I’m a fan!

The week in the Atlas Mountains with Stockenbridge was my first bridge holiday. I went with 3 other friends not knowing what to expect - we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the break. The week was beautifully balanced with very good bridge tuition, supervised play and friendly competitions organised by Zeb and supported by Claudia, Dinah and Peter. The hotel’s setting was stunning nestled in the Atlas Mountains and there was nothing the staff wouldn’t do to make our stay memorable. It really was a fabulous week…and my bridge definitely improved as the days passed.

I have just returned from a bridge break with StokenBridge Breaks UK in Chateau De Montcaud in Provence. First time 3 Irish gals joined this mainly British group with a few Scottish and Welsh. It surpassed my expectations. The Chateau was really lovely quiet and peaceful lovely rooms. Food Michelin Star for entire week and lots of really good wine. Staff were the best I’ve ever experienced they couldn’t do enough for you. Absolutely superb. Now to the bridge run by the family matriarch mum Dinah, Dad Peter daughter Claudia who organised trips and son Zeb who did all the bridge morning , afternoon and evening. All very well organised. Zeb is just a genius at bridge and has great patience and never makes one feel stupid and he caters to all levels. He has a great personality and makes it fun whilst learning a lot.
Also we played against the French and we couldn’t believe it but the Irish duo won the cup. I would definitely recommend Stockenbridge breaks and they organise trips to various different places throughout the world. Quality of this trip was 5 stars. Will definitely go on another one next year. Highly recommend. Great location fabulous food great company very well organised superb break. Highly recommend.
Here are a few pics from the trip.

I recently returned from a Stockenbridge holiday and bridge break in a Chateau in Provence. It was absolutely amazing, well organised and a lot of fun. The Chateau was fabulous with simply superb food and wine. The room was lovely and the staff did everything they possibly could to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. The Stocken family Dinah, Peter, Claudia and Zeb were very welcoming and shared their vast knowledge of bridge with us . Zeb was a great teacher he made the learning fun and had a particularly. Ice skill on never making you feel stupid. It was my first bridge holiday with Stockenbridge and I am looking forward to the next one. It was definitely a 5 star experience. Bernie Price

Stocken Bridge holidays combine the best of everything, superb locations with expert tuition. Whether you are a relative newcomer to Bridge or a pretty tidy player, there is something for everyone. The atmosphere is always friendly with just the right balance of lessons, supervised play and gentle competitions. Zeb and Claudia go out of their way to ensure you get the best of everything. I could not recommend them more highly.

I found the Stockens by chance a number of years ago by Googling "nice bridge holidays". Just completed my fourth holiday, this time in Provence. Another lovely venue with excellent teaching from Zeb.

The Stocken family - all clever, amusing, charming and capable - have created the perfect bridge holiday. For all their holidays they choose wonderful, often quirky, hotels, with exceptional food and then add interesting bridge tuition and excursions. So they attract a friendly, eclectic mix of guests who make every bridge holiday a real pleasure.

Barbara and I loved the week at the Kasbah and are now keen to sample other Stocken venues. Fred especially enjoyed the cookery in the mountains having invested 320 Dirhams in a Djeballa for the cold Scottish winters.
